Hey all

So, I am heading over to the states in a few days time and I figured I'm going to get myself a new driver.

I've been looking into the burner superfast 2.0 and really liking the look and what I've read about this club.

I'm definitely going to get my swing analysed over there and see what they say in terms of shaft etc for fitting and even if this club is right for me.

I generally have quite a fast swing speed with my driver. One thing I am concerned about is the longer shaft as I believe this club is slightly longer than most? is it crazy to put a slightly shorter staff in there? But I definitely want to go for a stiffer shaft as I have a regular right now.

Any of you guys have experience with the SF 2.0 and how have you found it? just wanting to get a bit more feedback from the community regarding the club. if I test it in store and it's not for me obviously I will look elsewhere but it's definitely caught my eye.

Especially after I saw how Day was crunching this thing at the Masters :)

Peace.

Enjoy your trip to the states.

The only question you asked that I'm really qualified to speak to is shaft length.  The longer shaft is, as best I can tell, based on the idea that if you hit it the same way with two otherwise equal shafts, the longer shaft will hit it farther, and that's what drivers are advertised based on -- distance.

If you hit it fine with the stock length shaft, I see no reason to go shorter.

If you hit it better with a shorter length shaft, I would suggest getting it shorter.

I know this sounds like "go with what's better," and it sort of is.  If you make solid contact better with the shorter shaft, I would suspect that you'll end up hitting it even longer that way -- there's only so much that club head speed can make up for off-center hits.

I've experimented with various shafts in my irons over time, and at one point had standard length graphite shafts in my current irons.  I picked up about 10 yards (that I had previously lost) when I went back to steel and shorter (minus half an inch) because I was hitting my irons in the center far more often.

Yeah I agree that longer shaft = more distance. And when i hit my driver right it goes a country mile but I would gladly sacrifice distance to hit more fairways. I just feel like I have so much more control when I choke my driver so figured a slightly shorter staff would do the same.

Anyway, thanks for the response. WIll give it a good workover when I'm in the store and see what the folk there say.

I recently tried out a Taylormade Superfast. The first one and fell in love with it, I'm also torn between the the first and second one. I wonder how much of a difference there is in the two clubs and if its worth it to be upgrading to the newer one. The guy that was fitting me for clubs fixed my swing with one thing and I was blasting 280 yd drives in the air with it. The superfast is a great driver. And although many people say its not accurate it seemed to be very accurate for me atleast. I don't know if that helps any but give the first one a look to and see if you might like it and save a few bucks.
