Anyone else have one?

My kid brother is 17 and he wants to beat me so bad he can taste it. I scrambled like crazy to hold him off today to beat him by 2. Damn kid went +2 over the last 13 holes. I thought today was going to be the day he finally got me...

I have a buddy from high school who is one of those guys who is around a 10-12 handicap but in his mind he's a 3 or 4. The type of guy that tells tales of his rounds in the low 70s all the time. Which I find assuming because I've been playing golf with him for 10 years and I've never seem him break 80. We play money matches at least once a month and I always offer strokes yet he never takes them because "he's been playing really well lately". He has not beat me once in 10 years and there has been times where if he took the strokes he would have got the W.

I played with a buddy the other night for 9 holes. He plays maybe 3 times a year with shitty clubs, and he's only been playing for 3 years. He shot 44, I shot 43.

Naturally talented guy

He started with 4 pars and I was 3 behind him.

I would of been gutted if I lost.

My two friends that I regularly go out with haven't beat me to date.  One of them is awfully close by the way he talks, it seems like every time he goes out without me he shoots great shooting in the mid 70s but then when I play with him he has never broken 80.  I hope he does beat me, I like seeing him get better especially since I have helped him out.  We did tie this year when I played horrible shooting 82.  Maybe we can start playing money matches now, I would just have felt bad if we did before since I normally beat him by 3-5 strokes.

Oh and I have never beaten my dad until this year. It felt so good, I have been trying to beat him for ten years since I started playing serious when I was 11.

i have a high-school buddy in which I have the experience of losing many a time to him.  Throughout high-school I was always 2nd to him, good competition though.  When it came to regionals or sectionals, i would shoot well like 2 or 3 over for 5th place or something while finishing before him, and he'd come in 1 or 2 strokes better, every time!! These days, he plays college golf and is prolly a scratch golfer, and I just play summers and hover around a 1.5 to 2.  Still is good competition when we play though.

My dad has never beaten me. He will always brag about the time he beat me thru 9 holes once... but not the 18

And the streak ended due to a phantom lost ball on #18. I laid up on the 2nd shot of the par 5 18th after my bother had some issues with the trees on the right. I figured no reason to get crazy. Both of us looked in the area my ball went and it was gone. We saw it bounce so it didn't plug, and it was in the center of the fairway so it's not like it was in tall grass. Pisses me off that THAT's how my brother finally beats me. Didn't help my mood that the round took 5+ hours and the marshals ignored the group ahead of us falling 2 holes behind. Just a crappy day at the course... (still beats work)
