after a day at the driving range I notice I had blisters on my right hand thumb, Need advice on how to prevent this or is it normal? thanks Al

Could be your thumb is pointing straight down on the grip (putting pressure on it), rather than just resting slightly to the left of it!

Being a righty as well, I don't get blisters on the right thumb.  Agree with above post - too much pressure in the grip - middle two fingers in the right hand grip apply the pressure.  Try lightening up, and place the thumb a bit to the left.

A good pressure grip can still be achieved with little pressure from the right thumb.  It should be lightly touching the grip, it mainly acts as a guide for the rest of the fingers.  The two V's should stay pointing down the line of the club and the right thumb should just rest in its position.
