Just one of those days...

So Wednesday we had our yearly Pro-Am tournament here and I was paired up with a group as their pro. Got to the course and was greated with a 2 club wind. So I hit some balls trying to prepare myself for the conditions then the shotgun started at 12.

Got in trouble right away starting on the downwind par 5 7th. Expecting to birdie, if not eagle with the strong wind at our back, I struggled to barely pull out a par. And my round went spiraling downhill from there. If I didn't knock my tee shot in trouble, I would knock my aproach shot to trouble. If I left myself off the green to get up and down for par I'd leave myself in the worst spot possible. Nothing, and I mean nothing was going right for me. Better yet, as the round progressed, so did the wind, with gusts upwards of 4 clubs.

And the end result, a 12 over 82. Totally AWESOME!

To the silver lining of the story. The following day the conditions were just as bad, if not worse with not just gusts up to 3 clubs, but a solid, non stopping 3 club wind. To prove to myself that I was off for just that day, I went out in that garbage wind and shot 1 over for 9. What a relief. Crazy game this golf!

But I did swing well during my Big Break audition today, so, I guess you could also say that I just had a bad day.
