I was hitting wiffle balls and trying to work on hitting through the ball properly and getting my weight forward and have found something that seems to work for me. I wanted to get the opinion of some of you low handicaps as to whether or not it’s valid.

On my back swing the club head inscribes an arc and on the forward swing I would move the arc forward about two inches or so – right about how far forward I want my divot to be. I try to keep it parallel to the original arc and on the same plane – no video so I don’t know if that’s the actual case L

I’m not moving the arc forward with my hands (at least I don’t think I am) but my body (feels like hips) is subtly shifting forward. I tried the drill where you draw a line where the ball would be and made about 90% of my divots start on the target side of the line, they were a little inconsistent relative to each other but they were on the target side.

It was a very subtle shift compared to other drills I’ve tried and the shift comes right at the top of my back swing where the club head feels momentarily weightless.

Does anyone else here feel/work this way to get forward?

I hit a couple of fatties but even they got airborne and went the right direction albeit not very far. Also I was using wiffles balls so I imagine they don’t compress enough to give you as much benefit distance wise.

Gotta get to the range and try this out with real balls.

Yours in earnest, Jason.
