I have found over the last 3 rounds I have played that by leaving a good inch between left hand and top of club gives me a lot more control, accuracy and consistency.


That works for me as well and also works when I'm in between clubs and need to hit a club little shorter.

I do it all the time. It is becoming more and more rare that I use a full grip/full swing shot. It gives you so many more distance control options.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

Excellent move. I think it can be an easy mistake to grip the club too far at the end of the grip.

My Daughters swing coach says that gripping down on the club is a good option when you are struggling to find your groove, it gives you a littile more control.

agreed....... I grip down a lot too when I'm struggling in a round to try to find it again
