Looks like I have a corporate invite to the ATT Pro Am with a hospitality house on the course and was looking at the field . . . WOW, it's better this year. I pretty excited that I'll get to see this field in action, one things for sure, Tiger won't win this one! I believe the FedEx Cup has brought out a few more of the top players here to try and earn points. Disappointments, no Charles Howell III, guess he needs a week off, no Geoff Olgivy, no Sergio/Els/Goosen/etc, guess its a long flight from Dubai!!!

I am psyched to watch Duval in action and see if he has it together again.

What's your take on the ATT Pro Am this year, who do you like and will you be watching it or attending?

Jim Furyk
Phil Mickelson
Vijay Singh
Luke Donald
John Daly
Camilo Villegas
Tom Watson . . . YES!

Mark Brooks
Andrew Buckle
Jonathan Byrd
K. J. Choi

Pat Perez
Chris Perry
Jeff Quinney
Rory Sabbatini
Scott Simpson
Jeff Sluman
Brandt Snedeker
and lots more . . . quite a few Nationwide Tour and Q-school grads and lesser known pros.

Celebrities . . . I'll probably watch Tom Brady, he's supposed to hit it a mile. Too bad Taylor Hicks isn't there, Trump won't be there this year, no Eastwood, kind of so/so celebrity list, Costner returns. There are also the ProAm partners, the $$$CEO$$$ guys and its fun to watch them play.

Off tomorrow for golf in Carmel, CA and then Thursday the ATT Pro Am . . .
Will be walking around one of the cathedrals of golf, Spyglass Hill, that's where the celebs will be. Only problem is, it's going to be raining.

If you've never been to the ATT, it's a pretty amazing event, going around Pebble Beach golf course like you own it, seeing Johnny Miller walk over and chat up Donald Trump on #7 at Pebble, the yachts in the bay the kayaks, seals, waves crashing.

Speaking of waves, Kelley Slater, the Tiger Woods of surfing is in the field for the first time and carrys a -2, plays all the time at Turtle Bay in Oahu, I'm going to follow him a bit.

It is a big deal in the Bay Area for those who go, being the only PGA Tour event in N. Cal, and the atmosphere is really humming. You've got some tons of CEO's, real fat cats out there, probably the only time you get to see these fellows. It's an event like none other.

I'll check out Bill Murry and form an impression.

    • Hi @RetiredOldMan!  I am glad to see you are still playing and having good scores.  I hope that when I am 79, I am not only able to play, but still able to produce as good scores as you have been doing.   I look forward to hearing more of your success and your opinion of the senior flex shafts.
    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.
