My Thrash Talk tomorrow will be based on this year's Accenture Match Play Championship. Your final four is VERY similar to mine. I like your predicting style.

Also, another question to ask is which top seed will be knocked out first. That's always a fun one.
Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Bobby Jones bracket: Tiger (this is a very easy bracket for Tiger)
Ben Hogan bracket: Phil Mickelson (a brutally difficult bracket)
Gary Player bracket: Furyk (tough bracket)
San Snead bracket: Geoff Ogilvy (medium tough)

Tiger defeats Phil (Phil is going to be tired, is this 5 weeks in a row?)
Furyk defeats Ogilvy (Furyk has been steady and will continue to play well)

Tiger defeats Furyk for the title.

Tiger is going to win this match play, there is no one who can stop him, he'll be razor sharp and ready and it will be 8 in a row.

There will be some heavyweight battles in round one . . . Vijay Singh and John Rollins will provide fireworks . . . Darren Clarke and Sergio Garcia . . . Stuart Appleby and Charles Howell III . . . Geoff Ogilvy and Steve Stricker (both past champions) . . . Retief Goosen and Scott Verplank . . . Justin Rose and Michael Campbell.

Tiger will dispatch J.J. Henry in a hurry, maybe 6 and 5.

Not bad picks RX, I would love to see #1 vs. #2 in the world for this title but I have a feeling something will happen to one of them along the way and they'll get beat, both guys are playing great right now though so it could happen!

Come on, anyone else care to weigh in!?

There are going to be some more big knockouts tomorrow; already say goodbye to Ernie and Adam Scott; Thursday has Sergio against CH III, it's a pity one of them has to go and the winner gets Phil provided he wins. Some of the other brackets are far less interesting.

Another big match is Tiger against Tim Clark, if he gets past this he will have smooth sailing to the semi finals, but Clark is a very tough competitor and Tiger will have his hands full.

If Ogilvy and Goosen win then they will face off on Friday and I see the winner of this going to the semi's agains Furyk.

Man alive, I am the worst picker in the world, I do the same in all of my office pools for the NCAA tourney, UGH!

Right now Tiger is just on another level and should put up another convincing 'W' today against O'Hern. I think he might get a game after this round though, regardless I'll be glued to the set this weekend!

Mate you got the bit about being the worst picker in the world 100% right!

i'd expect whoever wins the casey-ogilvy match will be the favorite to take the match play title.

    • @DeadMan, I think your approach makes sense. As @dennyjones said, consistency is the key.
    • Day 204 (22 Nov 24) - Weekly men’s group round today.  Temps in the upper 40’s, WNW winds 5-15mph - was the old man in the foursome (next youngest is my junior by 10yrs) - held my own against them.  Iron play getting more consistent -seeing predictable ball flights and distances. While the consistency coming around still had sone solid negatives as I had two dbls and one triple. On the plus side - eight pars and one birdie.
    • I don't think anyone will really care.   It's your call.  Just be consistent.
    • I agree, until we are watching the 18th hole in the dark or waiting for the champion to finish and it's been 5+ hours
    • Question for the group. The course I normally play at has 27 holes - 3 9s that they use to for 18 in the various combinations. Is it okay to declare* if I’m playing front or back when I play 9 on this course? I’m figuring I need to declare before I play a shot. *meaning just say to myself that this is the back 9. Curious what people think. Of course, my only holes left are 13 and 17, so I’m going to declare the back 9 for the rest of the year. Probably only one or two more rounds though.
