Hmm wierd. I can do a screenshot of Gspot if you don't believe me. 17000 frames is 71s at 240fps. Since the final video is at 30fps it means the video is actually 9 minutes long (for this specific one) but it is consistent across all the swing videos I have taken. I wonder if the FC150 uses a different compression? The value of 25kb per frame sounds about right for the resolution that 240fps gives. My laptop hard drive is filling up quickly cause I have over 20gb of 30s-1m swings!

I think I was assuming that someone who knows how to use the camera would not record (and keep) 240 FPS video for 71 seconds. The golf swing lasts about two seconds. Use the trim feature!

Well if you are filming yourself and hit 3 balls it takes that long to do pre shot routine for all the shots. Even if I only hit 1 ball it would still be at least 20 seconds once you do setup etc.

Trim. None of that stuff is worth keeping around. Or use the ten second timer. Or both.

Even if you keep doing that, I still don't see why you wouldn't trim and cut the videos into separate clips for easier reference after you get the files on your computer. By doing that you could save a considerable amount of storage space, and watching the clips would be less frustrating. (who wants to see x number of waggles and setup adjustments in slow motion before each shot?)

Sorry for bringing up an old thread but this is for anyone who searches this and wanted to know what I ended up with.

I decided to buy the Canon 100 HS. Even though this does not have manual shutter setting at $125 dollars it just was a good fit between what it is capable of doing and its price. I was in a couple ebay wars for the EX-FH100 but lost. And then the price for that camera even used shot up to 250-300. There is a new camera the Casio ZR200 that does have shutter priority in high speed video mode. It will be out in the next couple months and retails for 379 dollars.

My personal opinion is 120fps is the minimum need to analyze the golf swing, especially the down swing. 240fps is a little difficult to work with at 320x240 resolution. Also after using a couple free golf swing programs Kinovea is my favorite at the moment.
