I use the original Orlimar TriMetals. Best fairway woods ever made. There are a lot of exotic choices out there, but I've found nothing better.

I have a 906F2 and absolutely love it off the tee. However, it is a bit tough to hit off the deck due to the deep face.

I use a macgreger 5 wood. I hit it beautifully. Love the club. When it comes to 3 woods though i hit low snap hooks, then ill cut one, then ill hit one fat and so on lol. Hence i have taken it out of the bag and i just hit 5 wood

Thats good to know to pull it out. Do you have issues with your driver too? Suprised with a 9 handicap.

I'm not using any fairwaywoods currently.
I'm looking for a 3-wood. My 3-hybrid equals a 5-wood and a 3-iron (hybrid easier from the fairway and 3-iron easier for the tee, I guess). I don't really know yet which one and I want to get fitted in the US, when I'm there for holiday in two weeks (live in the Netherlands, where prices are outrageous).

MDGolf BlackHawk 3 wood. One of the most under rated clubs and manufacturers out. Great club off the tee or from the fairway. Iusually only tend to use it of the tee. Anything from the fairway i'll use irons or my maxfli 20* hybrid.

I use both the 3 and 5 new Burner fairway woods. Here is what I noticed hitting of the ground....they really go a long way and they really do an amazing job of in flight corrections off of toe hits etc. ....I couldn't believe how long and straight some of shots were with such poor ball striking ....I had to look twice ... it was a little like the 'twilight zone' .

I'm new to the game, so I'm not sure why, but I do better with the Louisville Golf Niblick 4 that I have than with others I've tried. I like persimmon and hope to get more as I improve.

I personally hate the shallow faced fairway woods of today. I play TaylorMade fairway woods presently. The ones in my bag are the older versions, the Ti Bubble 2 woods. I have the 2007 Burner 3 wood but honestly shot for shot there is no difference in it and the Ti Bubble 2 so I don't carry the newer one.

I will have to go with Titleist. I like the workability of the wood. I used to play Callaway and I like the overall makeup of the Titleist better and find it easier to hit.

I love my Taylor Made r7 with graphite shaft. I can hit it high or low, draw or fade it.

I think you can't go wrong with Taylor Made & Callaway but lots more to choose from.

    • Day 37: did my drill swings in the garage with foam balls for about 15 minutes. Working on getting my backswing more turned and then going from there.
    • Thanks but honestly… I don't know any other way. I don't mind being wrong so long as I know where to go from there. I don't like being wrong — I'd love to get things right (which is different than "being right"). I recommend grabbing a furniture slider or a paper plate or something, and doing something like this: First, make a swing where you let your trail foot swing out as you turn, then twist that foot back in. From DL and FO, it'll look like this: Then, during a regular backswing, try to twist your foot in slightly (demonstrated in the left image): You'll notice a crease along the trail side of your hip, your pelvis will "fold" into that thigh (internal rotation of the hip joint), and your "bits" will be squished a little between your pelvis and your thigh. Ben Hogan said once: "At the top of the back swing the groin muscle on the inside of your rt [sic] leg near your right nut will tighten," Hogan wrote. "This subtle feeling of tightness there tells you that you have made the correct move back from the ball." I don't know about that, but you will probably feel something down around that area.
    • Yep. I think it will start to feel even more athletic when we start on the downswing stuff later.  I know, it's just I want to be younger so I have more time to enjoy the changes. 🙂
    • I need to drop a couple of stone. 🙂 😛    Yep. Yeah, but in the end, it feels more athletic, like you're actually using your legs, yeah? As you know… we use the best available info we have. Like others, I was fooled a little by 2D images for awhile (moving or still). Unlike others, I've learned and grown and moved on since then, while they're still looking at their images (often from lousy camera angles).
