For you guys that use Zero Friction tees...

How do they stand up with use on Par 3's where you'll be teeing the ball low(er) and hitting with an iron or hybrid?

Are they still "virtually unbreakable" or do they tend to break because there is a lot more of the tee shaft in the ground?

I'm thinking of switching to them this year but if they break easily with irons and I have to use good 'ol wooden tees on Par 3's then I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle.

I use mine exclusively for driver.... I do use epoch tees for irons/FW woods, and I have found those last, but not as much as the Zero's. Most likel because we snip the tops of. I don't, so mine last a round or more...

I use the broken stubs of other people's tees on par threes. Otherwise, as the other guy said, the points get clipped off.

Not to change subjects but ..... I grew up playing my irons off the tee on the ground. If I was in-between I'd use a broken tee.

I still play my irons off the tee on the ground regularly, anyone else do this?

They're good. And that one pack you buy will probably last you a few years, unless you regularly forget to get your tee after you hit from it.

Erik put me on to the Zero Frictions last season and, like him, I try to limit them to use with the driver. But if I can't find a broken wooden tee on a par 3 I'll sacrifice a Zero Friction.

I only hit it off the grass if I'm trying for a lower shot with a hybrid. Only problem I have with these tees is making sure it goes in the ground straight, otherwise it's difficult to get the ball to stay on it.

That they're so plastic-ey makes the biodegradable claim hard to believe. Biodegradeable in what, a millenium?

It's interesting, this zero friction tee business. Do you physically get more yards/better ball flight out of them?

I use wooden tees and when I use a colour other than white I can sometimes see small bits of paint from the tess on the ball; I couldn't say whether it was from my tee shots on the par threes or with a driver, or bother, but there's obviously some friction caused.

I play them for one reason, they don't break. I cannot see how a tee can have more than the tiniest affect on the flight of a golf ball. I just like how I can put one in my pocket on the first hole then pop it back in my bag after 18. They should be called Low Maintenance Golf Tees.

Great Tees. Only have broken one. They will bend over time though and using an iron will clip the points as previously stated. Bought a box of 50 last year and maybe used 2-3 during the final 10 rounds of the season.

Ah, I think I must have missed the point and had a senior moment then

. I thought for a minutes that there was this freaky science bit where it may have been proved that it gave you extra yards or something. doh! :)
