A chronically inured egomaniac who was miles ahead of his peers seems to be a couple more firings away from hitting rock bottom.  Not sure what Foley's slipping in Tiger's G-water these days, but he's a trainwreck. That topic?

OK -

If Tiger regains his health and competes at a high level he will probably continue playing.

If he is not competitive, and doesn't feature in the majors over the next three years, I don't see him continuing. He has too much pride for that.

Makes you wonder what he'll do with himself, doesn't it?

Consider these alternatives;

If, when Tiger had his car "accident", if it had been a real one where he could no longer play, maybe a Ben Hogan type crash, and the scandal had not broken, it would have been the biggest tragedy and "what if" story in sporting history. The assumption was that he would have won perhaps 30 majors. Certainly 25.

But, the reality is that his career as we knew it ended that night.

His biography, when he is finished will probably have as its opening paragraph "Supremely gifted and driven player who was expected to eclipse Nicklaus'  major title record.".........a bit more and then "His career was characterised, and cut short by a series of swing changes and injuries from which he never recovered"........and then something about how his reputation and public persona was ruined by scandal, causing him to lose respect from both the public, his sponsors  and his fellow players.

In generations to come, people will look at his record, look at the "Top 10 Tiger shots" on Youtube, look at the record books and notice how incredible he must have been for a period of about 5 years and then look again and marvel at how incredible Nicklaus must have been.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

If i didn't know better I'd swear Tiger missed his last 10 cuts the way people talk about him.  He played amazingly well at Augusta and was a balky putter away from winning the whole thing on the back nine.  He was clearly injured at the players and hasn't played since.  Why assume his career is over?  Did you not watch The Masters?

Pretty ridiculous.  People act like hes an over the hill boxer who has obviously lost his speed/coordination (Roy Jones) and its never coming back.  Give me a break.

Let's wait and see when Tiger comes back, if he does.

    • Yeah, let's just ignore that there were only 5-10 great players back then… 🤣 Ha ha ha. Whatever you guys have to tell yourselves… Tiger won MAJORS 22 years apart. That's a long time. He wasn't missing the top ten on the money list because he sucked, it's because he didn't play due to injuries.
    • Pretty accurate.  Another way you can look at it is how many years was Jack top 10 on the money list. It used to be the list that mattered, nothing else came close. Jack was top 10 from 1962-1978 and then once more in 1983 making 18 years total. He had another 4 inside the top 20. He was #1 8 times.  Tiger was top 10 from 1997-2009, 2012-2013, and 2018 which is 16 times total. His next best were 24th and 38th in 2019-2020. He was #1 10 times.  Honestly, they're both pretty long but Jack has quite a few more seasons in the upper ranks. Makes sense when Tiger barely played in 2010-2011 and then again from 2015-2017, and pretty much 2020 onwards. That's not an excuse for Tiger though.
    • Bangers and mash. In keeping with the golf theme.🫢
    • Played three and a half rounds in England last week. I will not be playing more than maybe 4 rounds on any one course. Probably only about 20 rounds all year and between 4 and 8 of those will be alternate shot, so don't really count. Off to a pretty good start though. Three and a half rounds gave me 5 birdies and an eagle (with two of those birdies being on the same hole number).
    • First round of 2026. No birdies and a very pedestrian 86. Maybe I should have hit a few balls over the past 100 days. Next year!
