I decided to go over to Carl's Golfland today and demo the R11 Irons. Overall I like the irons alot! I currently have the taylormade burner 1.0 irons with std steel shafts and the reduced cavity feel and smaller top lines are great. I just need to decide now if they are worth $799!

I have the Burner '09's and find them forgiving and long. I suppose if they don't work for you for some reason, a change is warranted. But TM is notorious for introducing model after model and I find it hard to believe that the R11 can make a material difference over the Burner, which is still a pretty recent model.

No.

Besides, before you get the soles slightly scratched, they will have already introduced another set (or 2) for $799.

Taylormade's marketing department is definitely earning their salaries!

I just left goldsmith from hitting the r11 irons, they are nice but I hit the tour preferred cavity back irons also and they feel nicer and there $100 cheaper. Try them out next time!

    • Day 130: Cinco de Mayo Day 7/24 of Full Speed Spectrum training. Difficult training day after struggling to certify my warmup yesterday, and today. Finished 13 mph lower than my training speed on Thursday. Hope to hit some balls today.
    • Yeah, I think I misread that part. I read "in front of" and kinda skipped the rest.
    • We just completed our winter league (Jan 1 - April 30)  Our scoring was simple.  We used the 18 birdies app.  You get 1 point for every member of the league you beat head to head in an 18 hole round (no handicap).  You also get a point for completing the round.  Therefore 4 members play a round- winner of the round gets 4 points, runner-up gets 3, third gets 2, and last gets 1.  Points accumulate throughout the season.  You can play as many times as you want. Our winner accumulated 110 points while second was 102 and third was 97.  We had a total of 16 members in the league.  No issues whatsoever.  All about fun.
    • I had the D-9's a while back, thought the stock Wilson grips were rubbish.  I put Pure grips on them. Pure is now out of business but available on Golfworks.  Currently some colors in stock as of today. PURE Wrap Golf Grips - The GolfWorks PURE Golf's tackiest grip, the Wrap features a perforated wrap design and is ideal for golfers that prefer a slightly softer, more muted feel at impact.
