ball bounces when putting

I know my putt is in trouble when I see it bounce or hop or skip excessively as opposed to rolling.  Is the excessive hop/skip/bounce from hitting the ball too high/low or what?  I can't tell from my vantage point.

Move the ball forward in your stance

Probably a combination of too much loft on the putter and hitting the ball on the upswing of the putt. See how you get on with a small (small!) forward press of the handle at address.

It honestly could be either of these, or even the putter that you're using. What type of putter are you currently using (Brand, style, length)? An easy way to get "true roll" with your putter is to lean the shaft over the ball. When I putt, my hands are in front of the ball at contact and my ball is in an immediate roll off of the putter face.

its an Odyssey Rossie II 34".  This isn't every time so I assume I flub some portion.  But often enough to be something I want to correct.

Too much shaft lean forwards or backwards - try a neutral setup and see what happens.
