My name is Scapo.  I'm 5'8".   Turning 40.  And last time I measured, my swing speed was 130 mph.  Even though I swing so hard, I'm relatively accurate for the distance that I'm hitting.  When I was younger, I had much more wrist lag in my swing and was very wild.  Now, I generate speed with rotation and I have a very long impact position with a flat left wrist.  Even though my wrists are less active, my upper torso increases speed as it rotates through impact.  This creates what I believe is a very powerful whip effect as my left arm approaches the ball.  As I get to the ball, it feels like I can hit it as hard as I want with my right hand, and still take the left side of the course out of play.  I believe this technique is somewhat rare, because most of the pros I talk to don't believe in this technique.  I have a lot of fun hitting the ball well over 300 yards.

P.S.  I have special training that I do in minutes a day around my house.  Any questions or comments?

First, welcome to the site. We're glad to have you.

Second, if you have a product you'd like to promote, then please send me a PM or email us at advertise@thesandtrap.com.

And finally, "My Swing" threads are for the posting and commenting on of our golf swings. Ideally you'll post a video and people can comment. You can ask questions, show changes over time, tell us what you're working on improving, etc. I think people here would love to see what it takes to deliver the clubhead at 130 MPH, and eventually would love to hear about your products. If you'd like this thread to be moved to another forum, I'd be happy to move it, but I hope you will be able to post some video.

Thanks, and welcome to The Sand Trap.

In this video, I'm swinging as hard as I can just to see how fast the club head was going.  When I was younger, stronger and had more time, I could only swing 125 mph.  Now that I'm 41, out of shape and out of time, I'm swinging the club head faster than ever. 133 mph!!!

133mph swing speed is legit.  If you don't mind me asking... Where did you get that swingmate swing speed meter?  I tried to find it online, but couldn't find any retailer for it.  I'd be interested in getting something like that to help with guaging my fitness goals.
