I'm pretty confident with my old worn out second hand 60° I bought to learn on, and I'm ready to upgrade ... this seems like too good a deal to pass up: http://www.budgetgolf.com/WILSON-STAFF-TW9-WEDGES-p-21598.html

The 60 comes in 6 & 8 degree bounce - I play alot of hardpan courses & figure the 6 degree would probably be better overall for me.    Just curious which bounce you prefer for your lob wedge and why ?  Thx !

I prefer the 6 because I find it easier to get under the ball from the fairway and I find it cuts through the rough better.  It really depends on conditions though.  If you play on fairways that are often soft (wet conditions), 9 degrees would be better because it wouldnt dig into the turf as much.

Wedge bounce is a frequent conversation topic at the driving range. Most players who use a 60* talk about turf conditions for bounce decision. (58* is as high as I go)

If the grind is the same, not much difference between 6 and 8 - you can have a 10 degrees bounce with heel, toe, and trailing edge relief that can act like a 6 - I play on hardpan all the time and use a Bridgestone WC design (now it is the J38) 60 and have no issues with 10 of bounce with all the relief.

If you get the 6, make sure you keep those hips moving. If it gets wet, open it up or get the butt end perpendicular to the ground so you don't dig .... much.

But I'd get a wedge that's good in all conditions ... that's just me. A 10 bounce with lots of relief.

A 6 in wet/soft conditions means you have to be very precise or you'll hit it fat almost every time.  I use a 6 degree 60 and it can get you in trouble if you don't pay attention.

If I could do it over..I'd go with a 10 degree wedge but since I bought my current one from global golf as an open box..I couldn't be picky.
