I love my MP68, and I don't want the new MP69 ...

Is there a way I can buy it cheap now? I can't spend another $600 on it and hopefully the price

will drop even further?

Sure prices will drop, but will it be much, I can imagine many will like the MP-68 more than the MP-69 ........ MP-69 is marketing only, maybe Mizuno hopes that a certain group of potential buyers will buy these for the sexy name only .......

I like my MP-67 ....... maybe I will also buy a nice MP-68 if I bump into these at a fair price.......

Prices in stores might not be reduced by more than $100 but you should see the used prices drop significantly as more people upgrade and decide to sell their older models.

I rarely see prices for Mizuno clubs drop when a new line of irons come out.  For what ever reason they don't seem to make sharp discounts like the other OEM's.  My first set of Mizuno irons were the T-Zoid, when they came out with the T-Zoid Pro I was expecting a price drop on the T-Zoid but never saw it.

When I bought my second set, I debated between the MP62 and MP67, finally went with the MP62.  Just last year I was getting a set of MP68, I actually found two different stores that still had new sets of MP67 but they were at the orginal price, so I went with the MP68.

I spoke to the owner of a local golf store yesterday that's an authorized Mizuno and Titleist dealer.  He said both companies keep strict control over the pricing - even on older models.  He said he wouldn't expect to get clearance to drop the price more than $100 for at least six months.

He said some dealers play games and will use a few clubs in a set as demo clubs and then sell them at a discount as used clubs but they could lose their authorized status if they get caught doing it too often.

    • Day 6: lighter session today after a long day. Just some mirror work and slow swings to try to get my feels down.

    • Day 91 (1  Aug 25) - Pre-tournament practice round today…had some great up and downs for par saves.  Rain came in this evening so it will be a totally different playing course tomorrow.
    • Jesus, when he keeps saying scissoring moment, ugh that is a horrible sounding phrase. Just makes me cringe. It doesn't help my mind went to Mr. Garrison from South Park. 🤣 If you know you know.  I think for the most part, golf shaft companies have gotten this figured out. They ask questions like, what tempo do you swing at. The whole scissor terminology sounds like they want to stand out a bit.  Yea, golfers load the golf shaft differently, and different bend profiles can help out. I do think swing speed matters as well. You probably want a golf shaft with lower torque if you swing faster.
    • Played 9 holes, shot a 39.  Kind of got around. Everything between the trees, so in play. Short game was rusty. Got to get back on that. Greens were stupidly slow because they got a lot of rain yesterday and probably couldn't cut them down. Usually in the summer they are firm and pretty fast for how sloped they are. Got to work on face to path a bit.
