Anyone have the new Adams 9088 UL driver? The one with the obnoxious blue Matrix shaft? Im really thinking about getting one, I just cant seem to get a good feel for it in the store. Im playing a Ping G15 now, but ive always liked the Adams Speedline 9064LS, I just never got one because my Ping worked just fine. Im just looking for some added distance.

And a yellow ball.

I haven't hit it the UL but the 9064LS is a lower spinning club, like the G15

I seriously wanted a speedline 9064LS, I just never fought with my Ping that bad, so I never bought one. One of these days ill buy one on eBay for $100, but Ive got some script to use and I was thinking about buying this new 9088 UL club. Just wondered if anyone out there had one and could share about it.

*Update*

So, I finally went to a demo day today at one of the local courses. And I finally got to try out the new Adams 9088UL driver. I liked everything about it until I saw the ball flight. I demo'd a 9.5 degree with a Matrix stiff flex shaft. I was nailing them everytime and although the ball was going straight it was too high. My ball flight was not my normal trajectory. It was much higher, as if I was hitting an 11.5 degree or something. The Adams rep I was working with didn't have an 8 degree driver with him, but said it looked like I needed an 8 degree. Ive never had an 8 degree driver, so I wasn't sure about that decision. He said that the club is so specifically designed that the decrease in weight was working against me and my swing speed. We both agreed after discussion that the 9064LS would probably be better for me. So that is exactly what I did, I went to the store today and traded in my R9 for the Adams 9064LS driver with an Alpha stiff shaft. BOOM!

I also traded in my A7 hybrids for the newer a12 hybrids… They're amazing!

Adams makes good equipment despite their staff's lack of knowledge about that equipment.

I've hit the 9064LS before and it's a good club...  When I was considering new drivers a while back it was on my list but I ended up with the Titleist D2... The RIP alpha shaft that is in it is great (same shaft in my D2).

Yeah, that Aldila RIP shaft is something else, isnt it!? Ive got it in my Ping G15 as well. The Adams really cuts down on spin, so it definitely works for me & what I need in a driver. Im even thinking about cutting it down an inch.

As for the 9064LS, I finally took it to my home course on Wednesday. This is significant only because I know about how far I normally drive the ball. This new Adams club... HOLY SHNIKE's!!!! this thing is long!! I wasn't "driving" the ball particularly good on Wednesday and with my 9064 I was seeing on average a 20 yard difference! I was going driver wedge on some holes where I never do that! One in particular was a Par 4 where I normally go driver 8 iron, but this time I went driver 52* wedge! Its insane!!! And I love it!!

    • That was a good watch. When I started working on pelvis in the backswing. I thought, this sounds contradictory to those leg straightening threads on the site. Erik has already done a correction. Then the last lesson we went more down the route of feeling the right knee gains flex. It doesn’t, but the feeling keeps my knee position in a good range. Also, I just realized how much extra work my right hip needed to do to stabilize the body with the proper weight shift. Those glute and hip stabilizers got worked. 🤣 I wish this evolution in the golf instruction happened 20 years ago! 😭
    • I've been Playing Golf for: 40 yrs My current handicap index or average score is: 4.0 factor My typical ball flight is: Straight however sometimes slight draw. The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: squirt to the right due to to much arm not enough turn. • The first issue Erik spoke about is something we worked on for my swing during both GEARS sessions. GEARS was showing my pelvis center moving towards the ball during the back swing. I wasn’t the 4” guy though! This forced me to correct on the downswing to give myself space. My hip rotation was to high as well. We corrected it by first getting the weight off my heels in my stance and getting my posture correct. Then the feel was shifting back into my right hip at a 45 degree angle. This kept my pelvis center from moving towards the ball at the start of the backswing. I also didn’t sway back as much as I felt I did because of the angle I was shifting. Feel Ain’t Real. The cool thing about GEARS is as you work on something you can see the exact (Real) change happening. On video, it is much harder to spot this issue because of the 2D nature of filming. But I know what to look for now. Sadly, I was hurt all last year and most of this year so I really haven’t been able to work on it much. I did do a lot of backswing work though.
