hi mvmac, yes i have indoor putting matt. Since most of us do not have enough hours in the day, an indoor putting mat allows you to practice at any time of day and during any type of weather condition. As you use your indoor putting mat, you will be able to focus on the fundamentals of your putting stroke without feeling any pressure of making a putt.

You can find indoor putting mats and putting greens in various lengths and sizes. They also come with slopes, curves, and hazards. Lengths usually vary from about three to fifteen feet long. Most of the cup sizes are a little smaller than the size of the cup on the golf course green. But this is good because it should help to sharpen your putting skills. Practicing with the putting mat should make the regulation cup on the golf course appear to be larger. Most of these putting mats will provide you the feel of putting on a well groomed green.

Most artificial putting mats are portable. You can roll them up for storage, placing them in your car, and even carry them on an airplane. A number of the putting mats even have an automatic ball return.

Another great aspect of these putting greens is the ability to adjust them. You can usually adjust the length, degree of break, pitch, and even the elevation. Do not worry if you are left handed because most of the mats can be used by right handed and left handed golfers.

Yes ... definitely better than anything I've seen in a golf shop.

I got a 12 x 4' mat on e-bay for ~$75 last year.  It works great.  Can't remember the make though.  Check out E-bay.

Not got one, but seriously considering it as my putting is certainly one of my weaker areas.

I do have a put on the carpet now and again but not as often as I should.

With indoor mats do you guys go to the extent of levelling it? e.g. I'm in an old house and none of the floor are perfectly straight which means all putts on carpet either have a gradual curve or they roll straight for about 5ft before curving at the end. If I was going to dedicate an area of space I'd potentially have to put the mat on a wooden base and then level the base too.

    • Day 6: lighter session today after a long day. Just some mirror work and slow swings to try to get my feels down.
    • @Philip Belgium,  If I haven't already, Welcome to TST.  Your injury sounds serious and I hope you fully recover.   Thanks for sharing your story.  ..... each day get 1-2% better.   (A ray of sunshine and a positive outlook)
    • Day 91 (1  Aug 25) - Pre-tournament practice round today…had some great up and downs for par saves.  Rain came in this evening so it will be a totally different playing course tomorrow.
    • Jesus, when he keeps saying scissoring moment, ugh that is a horrible sounding phrase. Just makes me cringe. It doesn't help my mind went to Mr. Garrison from South Park. 🤣 If you know you know.  I think for the most part, golf shaft companies have gotten this figured out. They ask questions like, what tempo do you swing at. The whole scissor terminology sounds like they want to stand out a bit.  Yea, golfers load the golf shaft differently, and different bend profiles can help out. I do think swing speed matters as well. You probably want a golf shaft with lower torque if you swing faster.
    • Played 9 holes, shot a 39.  Kind of got around. Everything between the trees, so in play. Short game was rusty. Got to get back on that. Greens were stupidly slow because they got a lot of rain yesterday and probably couldn't cut them down. Usually in the summer they are firm and pretty fast for how sloped they are. Got to work on face to path a bit.
