Anyone have any experience hitting the Nippon steel shafts on their clubs?  I have always played graphite shafts in my irons and woods.  But have hit a few steel shafted clubs recently and notice that I have been sacrificing a ton of accuracy.  I probably get more distance with the graphite.  The other thing I was wondering about is how the Nippons stack up with graphite in terms of shock absorption.  I know the graphite shafts have the edge there....but have heard that some of the newer tech steel shafts are getting better at not stinging your hands on every swing!  Thanks

I have no complaints about my Nippon shafts in my irons and wedges.

I have NS Pro 850  in set of Precept irons, To me they were not as shock absorbent as graphite  I have been using for years.   See link about what I did  to shafts to nake them as shock absorbent as graphite..... http://www.golf-tuition-online.com/new-members/18520-tendonitis-steel-shafts.html

I'm testing a custom build club at the moment with the Nippon NS Pro 950 'R' shaft and for me they're perfect. Really do like them a lot and plan on having a full set made with them.

I play Nippon 8950gh in regular flex which I was fitted for in my (at the time new) fg tour irons. They are great. Very smooth and I think they could be the best iron shaft for older players as well as youth. I'm in my early 20s only started golfing 2 or 3 years ago so im still young in terms of experience but I've excelled. I think the 950s are already a bit too soft and sometimes balloon. Simulator guy at the local store/shop I go to said some mechanics could help but also might get you swinging stiff. I could of just be out swinging these simply.

So I was considering c-taper kbs shafts and found out they upcharge 20$ a shaft not including the shaft itself and then he mentioned installation and everything it wlreally isn't worth the money. He said the kbs tour is offered to Wilson normal no upcharge.

But I realized that Nippon had some great shafts in these equivalent offers.

Can anybody compare the 1150gh tour to any of the other companies like true temper or kbs? I hear the kbs are great but most ppl go back to the 1150s due to feel. Slightly softer. Should work nicely but this is a big decision of course any thoughts towards the 1159gh tour compared to others?

A couple years ago I had a Mizuno MP T-10 with a Nippon stiff wedge shaft.  It was great and was one of the more accurate wedge shafts Ive had.

Whats in my :sunmountain: C-130 cart bag?

You won't have accuracy issues if you go with Aerotech Steelfiber Shafts -- steel like low torque with a graphite core with steel fibers wound around the outside.

I prefer them over Nippons, and I've played a lot of Nippons. Nippons in 850-1050 styles are mid kick that throw the ball way up - and play a little soft to flex.

Aerotechs - an American Company - normally plays a bit stiff in all flexes (soft stepping one time helps)  except for Senior - which is not floppy at all. I play the i80.
