Hey guys. I came across this the other day and it helped me out a fair bit.

A few years ago when I was paying for lessons, the pro talked about how he sometimes practices with 2 balls in his left pocket. If he was making good swings he would sometimes flick the balls in his left pocket on his follow through.

I'd never been able to get my hands that close to my right hip on the follow through (lefty), until I started thinking about this...

Maybe you do it when you hit a bad shot. Kind of like snapping a rubber band on your wrist when you crave something you shouldn't have. Seriously, what do you mean by flicking?

yeah, well ball jokes aside....

"Right arm pressure point squeeze and pivot" sounds very technical and difficult to pull off. "Keep the box" is a simple thought that seems to be working well for me.

Sometimes it's not the message, just how that message is presented that makes all the difference.

This whole thread makes more sense without my iPad, which doesn't show that there are videos.  Keep the box gives a visual hint to keeping the angle through impact.  I am still waiting to see the flicking part on the follow through, I am really not following that.

The "flicking" the pro used to try to get me to do was not an action with your wrists or anything like that. It's simply that you stay so connected that your hands travel close to your left hip on the follow through. If you had something bulky in your left pocket, you might brush it on the way.

May sound technical to you but keep the box doesn't tell you how to perform the motion or suggest what to feel

Bingo. I'm on the iPad and noticed when I'm on the site, I don't get videos. I'm not sure how to fix it either?? Sucks because I really don't want to use the site on my notebook (works).

Ok, I'm looking at this video now that I'm on my notebook and not on my iPad... Can't see videos embedded into this site for some unknown reason (isacs your tip didn't work for me - but thanks for trying to look into it).

My right arm in my swing needs a ton of work.  I'm nowhere near what Ernie or Mike are showing in these two videos. I've got a ton of work to do on my golf swing.  Thanks for sharing these videos guys!  I can't wait to work on this and put in some range time this week.

Just to be clear what I'm doing is an exaggeration, I look nothing like that in my "real" swing, but every inch towards that change will help.

    • Its way past time both tours  have  major  penalties for  slow  play. I  hate  it when they say" This group is  on the  clock". Big damn deal. Issue  penalties. Maybe Hull is a  bit too harsh but  its time a slew  of  2 stroke  penalties start  being  issued.     Charley Hull is fed up with slow play on the LPGA, so she offered a ‘ruthless’ solution “I’m quite ruthless, but I said, ‘Listen, if you get three bad timings, every time it’s a tee shot penalty; if you have three of them, you lose your Tour card instantly.’ I’m sure that would hurry a lot of people up, and they won’t want to lose their Tour card. That would kill the slow play, but they would never do that.” Who knows if that will work. But if it does not, maybe the PGA Tour should adopt Hull’s idea. The LPGA should, too, or at least assess penalty strokes for slow play. Five-hour rounds for a final group on Sunday is unacceptable and a quick way to lose interest and engagement from fans.

    • A hair under 190. It was pretty downhill, though, so I think we were playing between 180-185 to the pin. My 6 iron went 187 according to shot scope and ended up 18 feet away.
    • That's a tough pin on 14 at TR, had to make the hole play much longer, how far was that shot? I've only played that hole with a front pin.
    • No, but I spent (marginally) less time in the trees at Southern Pines, so it definitely played wider for me 😆. It definitely felt wider.
