Just want to take some time and thank everyone for making this site so great.  I think we have something very unique and special here and I enjoy discussing an array of golf topics with everyone.  Hopefully all the instruction information Erik and I provide does some good I'm looking forward to 2012

My family and I are having a pretty low key Christmas, not traveling, going to see some movies, eat well and relax.  What are you guys up to?

Whatever it is, hope you guys have a great holiday!

Merry Christmas to you too Mike and also to the rest of the team at TST! TST certainly is unique and in my opinion the best golf website by far. I still can't believe Richie3Jack only voted it the second best!

A big thank you for helping me with my swing via Evolvr and for helping me become a better instructor. I learn at least one thing new every day on here. For the first time in years, I am looking forward to 2012 as far as my golf game is concerned. I am very excited with the changes I am making. By the way, the sand play and pitch/chip techniques have improved my game too.

We are planning on a quiet Christmas too, just hanging out trying not to eat and drink too much! ;-) No holidays for me over the festive season, just the weekends off.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all. Thanks Mike, James, Erik, and Dave for the excellent evolvr instruction. Mike, you've really helped Erik with the heavy lifting this year. Can't say enough good things about the high quality instruction/advice/swing analysis (particularly the videos from you and the rest of the evolvr guys) you generously provide here at TST. We've got relatives in town. I smoked a couple of chickens, made some broccoli rice casserole, baked potato salad, and my wife made a rum cake. Gotta do an extra 15 minutes on the elliptical tomorrow. Will be finishing up wrapping presents tonight.

Thanks Philip, runner up ain't bad hopefully this year we can impress him more to get first.

I think this time next year you're going to be very happy with where your swing is, we're on the right track and we know what your pieces need to be.  Just need more reps, like everyone else.  Great to hear you're happy with the info as an instructor.  I'm going to steal a line from Sean Foley's dvd, "I(we) may not have all the answers but I know what's wrong and what's right."

Yes I agree Rich, Erik should give me a a HUGE raise

Really impressed with the progress you made this year

And I'm enjoying my role here on TST and got some more theory videos I'll be posting soon.

    • Day 36: back to some mirror work tonight. Need a bit more forearm roll in my feels to help with the shallowing.
    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
    • I haven't been able to practice like I wanted and won't for the next week.  1. The weather sucks in Ohio this year. I have been mostly inside hitting foam balls. Just kind of my basic stuff.  2. I woke up last Saturday with a left side rib muscle on fire. If I turned or leaned a certain way it would spasm that almost buckled my knees. I have been taking a break to let that settle. I don't want to get a long term injury. I think I pinched a nerve or just aggravated a muscles.   3. I am going on a mini-vacation to Florida (screw you Ohio weather) with a friend, and rolling that into a work conference I have next week. I will be with out my clubs for a week.  I will be back next in two Fridays to hit the ground running with some warmer temps and better weather in Ohio, hopefully. I would really like to get more out on the course and the range.
