It's revisionist history at best, and insulting to everyone else's intelligence. Including the word "conversation" does not make your topic a "conversation piece" that's NOT about changing the RULES when you say the word "RULES" several times, including in the title.

Drop the defense of the "it's not about the 'rules'" act. If you didn't want the discussion to be about the rules, then you really screwed up.

I would love to drop the defence of my rules use but everyone else keeps bringing the point up over and over. We had actually moved on further with the conversation but it keeps coming back although it has been answered fully.

I, and you, know they are not going to change this rule and I only used the theme to enhance the conversation.

Why is this causing such a dispute. Can we move on from the rule change and discuss the real theme of the thread. Are golfers playing only one version of the game and ignoring other possibilities. The rule restrictions outline how I would advise normal golfers to try to play the game.

Seriously?

Because it's the topic you chose. The "rules" angle is in the title, it's scattered throughout your posts, etc. Only after the fact when people started posting did you change your tune.

And it continues.

Thread locked. It's clearly not what you want, and you can't understand why. Start another thread in a week about this topic and leave the word "rules" out of it entirely.
