So right now I have the Taylormade Burner 2009's. I love them and they are great irons, but if my life rested on finding a Sand Wedge for them I would be dead. It is nearly impossible to find a right handed, steel/uniflex Sand Wedge that matches my set. So I need to find a club that is similar. I've looked at both R9's and Burner 2.0's.. but I just don't feel satisfied with them. Any advice?

(P.S. if anyone has a burner 2009 Sand Wedge that is Right Handed, Uniflex, and Steel I would pay a good price for it..)

Why do you think you need something similar for dissimilar, specialty shots?

I assume high school. My son was #1 player on his high school team. I taught him the short game. I think you are limiting yourself and what you can do with a wedge if you opt for the same wedge as your irons. There is a reason you don't see Pros match irons with wedges. They are specialty clubs.

You might go with a gap wedge that matches the irons. But the sand and lob wedge? Nada - too limiting. IMHO.

Hm, alright. Well, I got a Pitching Wedge with my clubs, but that is normally just considered a ten iron. I also got an approach wedge. I'll try a few more wedges out, I am kind of just trying to stick with my iron set. By the way I'm middle school team, so that's also a factor.

That's tough to find - saw a set that went through sand wedge. Saw a Gap on ebay for 09 Burners.

Try ebay -- they have some Cleveland CG 16 Wedges in a black pearl in 56 and 60 -- they are at least a cavity back for some forgiveness - one was priced at $49. I don't know anything about their bounce, but it's worth a look.

I would find some of the threads here on bunker play and pitching -- they are excellent and relatively easy to learn and use. You will also learn to use the bounce on a wedge.

On bunker, quick wrist hinge, right elbow tucked into right side and follow Pete's advice.

CG14, 15 and 16 wedges come with the Traction wedgeflex shaft as standard. This shaft has a stiffer butt end to launch the ball lower, but a softer tip end to give you more spin, even on partial shots.

Basically, you get the function of a DG Spinner in a stock shaft.

CG14 has perimeter weighting also, and some golf shops have quite a variety remaining in this model.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
