How many used Ping "Web-Fit" and bought or bent clubs

I'm just curious how many users of Pings online fitting tool via Ping's website actually used that as fitting info to buy your choice of golf clubs or have your irons bent. I got my iron's an inch over and 2* upright (I'm 6'5 wrist 37.5 to the floor) and the ping online web fitting shows me I should have an inch over length and 3.75" upright irons (silver dot). I am already used to and like to play a bit of a fade so I'm going to keep my setup the way it is.

Your current 2 degrees up static lie combined with the added length of 1" puts your effective lie right around 4 degrees, which is close to what they suggest, 3.75 degrees +/-.  I think Ping combines club length and lie to get you the proper effective lie, if I am not mistaken (I probably am).

I am 6'4" and my WTF is almost 38".  I had my old irons extended 1.25", but choked down a bit to play about 1" over length.  1/2" length equals approx. 1 degree in effective lie change.   I require about 2 degrees up effective lie.  My new irons are already bent up 1 degree, so I'll only be adding 3/4" to the shaft length to bring them to around 2 degrees up after choking down a 1/4".   Just adding the length to my irons last season made a colossal difference in my ball striking (that, and I like typing the word "effective", apparently)

Add.

I just did their web fit, and it put me at +0.5 length and silver dot, so I would take it with a grain of salt.  I'll rely on my trusty masking tape and lie board for my fitting.

After thought:

If they aren't combining the lie/length, then they are in fact suggesting an effective lie of 5.75 degrees for you.  Yikes.

edited for typos...several times.  I hate this curved keyboard.

I'm 6'3", WTF is 37.5.  The had me in +0.5 length and midsize grips, no lie preference.  I play +1 length, standard grips and standard lie.  I selected draw as my natural shot and for grins put in that I wanted a straight ball flight, so that may have informed the lie angle choice.  I'd say with any tool like this, use it to get rough numbers, but never trust it.  Do a dynamic fitting based on ball flight, lie board contact, and feel.

I wouldn't trust the web fit.  I did mine and it told me standard length with Maroon dot.  I went in and got fit at Golfsmith and it came out 1/2 longer with green dot 2.25 upright. And I must say they fit me perfect.

Exactly what I was thinking. After making this post I was checking out my iron's at address and my short irons toe looks a little too far down. I would have to line up with the butt of the grip pointing much lower then my belt buckle to get the club lined up like my mid irons. I may have the loft/lie checked since I have played with my irons allot and haven't checked the loft/lie in a while. Not sure how the lie angle could go flat from playing, though? I may end up needing an extra degree upright..

I did it just for kicks (I play some old Titleists) and I thought they were way upright.  I know PING standards and others are not the same - I just got the hard numbers and had my set bent accordingly.  Bent them flatter and hit the ball way straighter (was hitting hooks with the upright set up, even with shorter irons).  Dynamic fit is the way to go.  I was speaking with a PING fitter in my local golf shop the other day and he said that the web fit is actually only right about 15% of the time - its used more for a starting point.

I have bee having trouble with my Taylormade irons so I did the Ping Webfit and got my color code and shaft length.

I went to a second hand store and found a set of Pings and really liked them. They are 100% than my TMs. The set is actually one color down from what I should be, I was able to get them alittle longer and it has helped alot.
