I currently play the Mizuno JPX800 Pro and coming from a set of Mizuno MP58"s I miss my 2 iron. I realy like the setup of the Taylormade 11 resue or Hybrid. My 3 iron is 20 degree.

The Taylormade Hybids have an adjustment of 1 degree up or down in loft. I am wondering which Hybrid fits in between my current set up.

3 wood that adjusts from 13 to 15 dgrees

3iron at 20 degrees

Taylormade 3 hybrid goes from 17 to 19 degrees

Taylormade 2 Hybrid goes from 15 to 17 degrees

I have only hit Hybrids at the practice range, never on the course ( I do like the ease of hitting them an the feel) They seems to carry longer than the club number compared to irons or am I just thinking that. Will a 3 Hybrid carry longer than a 3 Iron?, etc.

I think it will, shaft is usually longer, graphite shaft, so it's lighter and has more torque and will tend to launch higher.  Different face constructions as well.

As mvmac says, hybrids tend to have longer shafts than the irons. This goes for traditiona l hybrids (if we can say that!)

A more recent offering is iron-replacement hybrids, offered by Mizuno and some other companies. In Mizuno-land 2012, The Fly-Hi iron replacement clubs are designed to go about the same distances the irons they replace. Shaft length and loft are very similar between the two. Also, M has both the JPX and the MP Fli-Hi variants.

If you prefer traditional long irons, this may not interest you.

I second 15 and 18. At 17-18 it is really a 2h and the 2h at 15-16 is closer to a 1h which is a tougher loft to hit. At 18 it should not leave too big a gap to your next iron.
