I think many golfers will want to learn Bubba's swing.

There's a guy at our course, a right hander who has some similarities, a strong grip, a very upright back swing and his left foot goes off to the left after impact. He also hits the ball a mile and when he's playing his irons, he also seems to hold the club off after impact stopping it from closing.

Should we ignore Bubba or are there some good power and control secrets to be learned from him?

I don't see why people would want to swing like Bubba just because he won a tournament and I can't imagine any instructor wanting to teach it either. It works for Bubba, that's pretty much it. The timing and synchronization required makes it a difficult swing to master. It's taken Bubba quite some time to get on the PGA Tour and start winning tournaments with it. I'd rather suggest people use the swing components of the average tour pro. Of course, Bubba got most of these too, but he got such a big move in his swing that he gets more speed. People don't need to hit it farther, but more accurately. If Bubba only hits 44% of the fairways, how on earth are the average amateur going to manage that kind of swing? We know what creates power, that is no secret. Bubba's swing is long and he uses the lower body very well, which give him a higher ball speed and more distance.

Well that's a great one. Everyone wants to hit it further. I don't know a single golfer who doesn't want to hit the ball further. Of course we also want the ball on the fairway, that's a no brainer. The guy at our course who swings a bit like Bubba is also the longest at the course. I would also take his accuracy, not perfect but oh so long.
I am interested in Bubba's strong grip and lower body movement. What's he doing that his left foot jumps left after impact? Does he play a power fade or a draw?
