Hello everyone... My first post here.

I'm 21 years old and have been a life-long golfer pretty much... been swinging clubs since I was 3. The past several years I haven't played quite as much. Back in high school, I played a year on our JV golf team. The summer before try-outs I got out to play every night, walked 9 holes with my friends. Some great times. My school's golf teams were among the top in the state, and it was even difficult to make JV so I practiced hard. I only made the team once and missed it the next year by only 2 strokes. Looking back, I am happy to have been apart of the program, even for just one season.

I got a little discouraged after missing the team the following year tho and since then I haven't played quite as much. Last year I didn't even get out to play a single round. Don't even think I swung a club... But this year, I've been out a few times and my fire for the game has returned completely! I want to get out and play every single day... Since I've started back up, I have surprised myself with how decent I am playing after so much time away from the game... my game is around as good as it's ever been before, and I hope to continue getting better!

I'm a huge Callaway fan... This past week I've picked up some of the new Callaway Hex Black Tour golf balls, after preferring the Callaway Tour i(s) for some time, and a new vintage-style MacGregor Hoylake putter, which feels great, so I'm very anxious to get back out on the course and try everything out.

Hoping to be shooting scratch golf by the end of the summer... that's my goal. Striving to earn a spot on a college golf team. :)

Anyways, a little background on myself and that's about it... Looking forward to my time here on the site.

    • Day 198 (16 Nov 24) - A little backyard pitching fun with the grandson with wedges, foam balls today.  Love working with him on short game drills.  Priceless is the word.

    • A strong grip cups the wrist (lead) and then it wants to flatten through impact, something I used to be able to avoid to keep it from going left and protecting my forearm (the main premise of my set up). Longer the club, harder it is becoming. Either way, yes, I need to transition to gripping it open.
    • Why don't you grip it "open" so you can return your hand to the place where you're comfortable/not sore, but the ball won't go left? It's effectively weaker… without actually "being" weaker?
    • Day 47 - 2024-11-16 Light backswing work with about 3 or 4 rehearsals for every ball hit. Only about ten minutes while waiting for a potential member to show up (he was 25 minutes late). 😛
