I recently had my clubs stolen.  I've done some research on replacing my woods, irons, and wedges, but my putter has me worried.  I've used my 33" Ping Pal 5 for a LONG time.  It was an old friend, the club I kept after I slowly replaced my driver, irons, etc over the years.  It was my money club.  I loved the weight and feel...if I put the shaft on my finger, the balance of the of the putter head made the face point straight upward, on a perfect horizontal line.  In my hands, it was wonderful.  But now it's gone.

So...since I haven't been in the market for a putter in a long time, I'm wondering if any of you could offer suggestions for a replacement.  There are so many designs out now it's sort of bewildering.  I'd like to replace my stolen, beloved Ping with something weighted the same way, with the face pointing perfectly skyward if balanced on a finger, but maybe with a new-tech insert or fancy weighting.  So, my golfing friends, your suggestions are appreciated.  Especially since it's spring and I need a putter as soon as my insurance money drops LOL!

Damn. I'm sorry to hear your clubs were stolen. How did that happen?

I have in my bag the Odyssey White Ice Sabertooth Putter. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q;=odyssey+white+ice+sabertooth&bav;=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&biw;=1244&bih;=625&um;=1&ie;=UTF-8&tbm;=shop&cid;=12427250269297922124&sa;=X&ei;=WIOgT_jkO4im8ATx4dn7Bw&ved;=0CKsBEPMCMAM

When I first went to my local shop to get it I test about 12 different putters, and that one I was the most consistent with.

Driver :: Cobra AMP 55g Stiff

3 Wood :: Cobra AMP 55g Stiff

4-9, PW, GW, SW :: Cobra AMP Steel

Sounds like your old PAL was like an old pal.    Just curious - since you two had such an excellent relationship together, why not find a replacement on eBay or other place?     I did that once when a prized fountain pen disappeared - I knew I just wouldn't ever like anything else nearly as much.

Hmmm...checking out eBay is actually a great idea...maybe I'll see my clubs on there!  I love my old Pal, but am not against going with something new and better.  Odyssey has a lot of good products out there and has a great reputation...maybe I'll look into that.  I just want something weighted similar to what I'm used to.  Although getting a putter that looks like the starship Enterprise isn't really me...it may work great, but I need confidence looking at it.  I'm sure you know what I mean (or as Judge Smails said, "Spaulding, get me the old Billy Baroo").
