This week's PGA Tournament is the Wachovia Championship in North Carolina!! It boasts an extremely strong field..the top golfers in the world including: Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Adam Scott, Padraig Harrington, Mike Weir
Hope it is going to be a ripper tournament!!

My pick is Adam!! Tiger will be favourite

My question is - why the 3 week layoff for some of these guys, since their last tournament was the Masters?

Is tournament golf really that stressfull?

Hey, I'm not sure I would play after winning $1.3 million at The Masters either. I might take the year off, except for majors of course.

Nah seriously, I do like when the guys play more, but as a fan, who wouldn't?!? I can understand where they want some time off of traveling to spend with family. But golfers have the life for sure! I should have started when I was 2. But onto the tournament this week, I am very excited because the field is as strong as it's been since The Masters. 8 out of the top 10 or so will be in playing, and it should be good. But then again, Joey Sindelar won last year, so maybe a big gun won't win. I definitely look forward to watching though, as someone will give their mother a great Mother's Day gift with a victory this week in Charlotte. By the way, my preview on The Sand Trap should be up in the morning with my predictions and stuff.

Well, the scoring has definitely been high so far in Charlotte. I'm going to be ready to watch tomorrow and Sunday (don't get to watch on Thursdays and Fridays). I love courses where a couple under par is a great score.

Sergio looks to be solid, but will his putting hold up on the weekend? It's been known to falter badly. And Tiger, Vijay, and Phil are all within shouting distance. It should be a lot of fun.

By the way, where are these high scores coming from? Toms has fallen off the planet the past couple months, and Zach Johnson went 80-80. There are some great players putting up high scores. I think 69 is the best so far today...

And just to follow up on my article on DL3, he is +6 and won't be around for the weekend. So I must not be too crazy...

I think golf is actually more stressful than we all think it is!! If you think about it maybe some of these guys are actually tired!! Since those delays throughout the year have forced early mornings and playing 36 holes in a day...I guess that can take a toll on you Having said that Adam Scott is taking a 3 week break after this...not too sure why...but I guess he's wanting a bit of a holiday!! haha...
Back to the tournament...Sergio looks pretty strong..Vijay is near and lurking...Adam is at +1..hope he can keep moving up the leaderboard

Sindelar is the guy thats impressing me. He's making an awesome showing this weekend. He's come to the tournament with a positive attitude and one of the Tour's ugliest swings, but he's getting it done. I give him props for defending his title so well thus far. Plus he's helping my fantasy team do fairly well.

Sergio has a pretty handy lead of 6 shots!! He'll probably hang on and win.
Adam Scott's at -2!! I really hope he can move up the leaderboard again

Yep. I'd do the same thing Tiger is doing. I'd take 3 weeks off to count my money, ride in my 20 million dollar yacht and oh...yeah... have a little fun with my blonde model wife. That must really suck.

Sergio is putting on a clinic it seems. His ball striking yesterday was awesome I thought. Then he took the driver on the short 14th and that paid off as well. He hit a drive or two in the trees, but everything else seemed to be phenomenal. And his putting even held up, which could be the key for him to not only win this week but some majors later this year as well.

With that being said, I've seen Sergio shoot 75's on Sunday, so if he has something like that, Furyk or Singh can definitely make a run at him. Vijay could shoot a 66 at any given time, so this one isn't over yet. But if Sergio has a decent round, he will win it.

And he deserves it as well as he has played the first 3 days.

So much for the clinic.

Well, I thought a 70 would have won it, and it sure would have now that it's all said and done. But it wasn't like he went back to the field either. Furyk and Singh both shot great 66's, and Furyk could have been 2 or 3 shots better. He hit the ball so well all day long, and I was really pulling for him in the playoff.

Oh well, another win for Singh. And Sergio is defending this next week at the Byron Nelson, so it will be interesting to see how he bounces back.

By the way, DiMarco had another top 5. That guy is racking up the money for sure.

Oh dear, seems like Sergio suffered final round jitters. Very much like Adam Scott in China last week where he had a pretty nice buffer. Luckily for him though he didn't blow it. Vijay and Furyk played very well to catch up to Sergio..And in the end Vijay won..again He's up to 4 million plus now I think in earnings!! Just tremendous...
I'm glad Adam finished tied for 16th spot..a good effort for him

    • As a geezer who remembers seeing the original Star Wars in theaters - this sim is pretty kewl.  Fantastic detail!
    • Day 203 (21 Nov 24) - Weekly nine hole round with my good friend.  Played it as a 7 club challenge (7w, 5h, 7i, 9i, GW, LW, putter).  As we were playing up a set of tees, no super loss of distance off the tee.  Had some good looks at birdie, failed to convert.  These sessions with fewer clubs really helps with course management.

    • My wife is going to drag me to see Wicked.   She is very excited to see it.   We saw the musical while in Chicago and thought it was very good.  I'm not usually a fan of musicals but I'm looking forward to seeing this.   Gladiator 2 does look good.   I'm going to go back and watch the original Gladiator before going to the theater.
    • MSN Glover expressed his dissatisfaction with what he termed as 'cool kid meetings' between Jordan Spieth, Patrick Cantlay, Tiger Woods and other high-profile golfers. "I think it's terrible," he stated. "And then hiding behind pace of play, I think, challenges our intelligence. They think we're stupid.     "Don't cut fields because it's a pace of play issue. Tell us to play faster, or just say you're trying to appease six guys and make them happy so they don't go somewhere else and play golf." Fitzpatrick joined the conversation on X (formerly Twitter), with the 30-year-old echoing Glover's sentiments regarding the PGA Tour changes. "He's so right," Fitzpatrick posted. "Pathetic that pace of play is spoken about every year and nothing ever gets done."     I agree. Instead of  penalizing  players for  turtle  play they appease the  slow jerks  by  cutting the  fields. They will play even slower  knowing they will NEVER be  penalized.
