I have changed a few things in my iron swing, which was typically a slight, predictable fade.  Mainly I moved the ball about 1 ball forward of center, keeping the club lower in the back swing and concentrate on swinging through the ball instead of at the ball, which seems to give me a straight ball flight, and has added about a club length to each of my irons and full wedge shots.  It's taking a bit of time to get my distances right, but I'm happy with my iron and full wedge game right now.

But..........

With my swing changes, I've completely lost my driver and fairway woods.  I am now hitting straight hooks and pull hooks about 50% of the time.  About 30% of the time, I hit low worm burners dead straight about 3' off the ground and 20% are nice mid height slight draws.  I talked to the pro about it after my round and it seems he's been fighting the hooks with his driver, but hitting his irons great as well lately.  He told me that in order to straighten his out, his only swing thought has been to finish high, which straightens him out.

Does anyone have any other tips?  I'm hitting the ball a little high and out on the toe of the driver as well, if that's any indication.

OK, so I'm reading the ball-flight laws and it seems that I am swinging in to out (good thing), but I'm closing the club face relative to the swing path (causing bad things).

Am I correct in these assumptions?

So in order to turn this pull hook into a push draw, I should open the club face a bit, but continue to swing in to out?  That seems like a relatively easy fix, since I tend to setup with the club face closed anyways (old bad habit).

im the other way round,....straightened the drive rout but hooking the irons

no idea on the fix for the irons but with the driver i would move the ball back to counteract the closing clubface,.....i would also concentrate on mainting the clubhead low and slow whilst also maintaining the triangle created by your arms,....add to that not lifting the ehad until well after impact

i found this to cure my occasional hooks and often push slices,.....sometimes i forget though and just go after it and hit horrible tee shots haha
