I had an opportunity to look at a video of my swing the other day. I was aware that I stand up at impact but I didn't know how bad it is.

I am standing straight up just before impact with the ball. Are there any drills or such that I can work on to help me stay down through the shot? I feel myself doing it I just don't know how to correct it.

If you're standing up but still striking it well your clubs are just a bit long or the lie angle needs adjusting. If you are not hitting it well try and feel as though your knees and back are staying level and you are maintaing your posture right through the shot.

Or you're standing too close to the ball. Without seeing it, we'll never know - but there's more to it than "fix your clubs."

Callaway shipped my new irons back yesterday from being bent up 2*. I'm using my old Big Bertha irons right now so that may have something to do with it. I am consistantly striking the ball in the center of the club face so I think the length is good.

I'm guessing the best thing to do is practice...practice...practice once I get my irons this week.

My old martial arts instructor used to say that practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect. You may be practicing a bad habit. You might want to consider visiting a pro for a lesson.

Alot of these questions are easy to answer. Simply dont do it.. There really isnt a logical answer to definatly fix it in my eyes. Just focus on not straighting on your swing, keep your knees bent, just think about not doing it. That should fix it.

Maybe this little tip might help that I've used for the longest time. Kick your butt out before your backswing, this usually straightens the back out. Its real easy to come up on it if you were too upright to begin with :)
