I made this video to try to persuade my friends to give golf a chance.

It is titled "Golf is Awesome! (you should try it out!)

Just uploaded yesterday night, and I've had some good responses.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks for your support! I hope to continue making more Youtube videos in the future when I get the chance.

Well done.

You do make it look like fun!

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Thank you. I am glad that the response is positive. So far, I had one person who told me that they might try out golf sometime.

Nice job, only suggestion I'd make is to include more people with you.  Golf is a social game too.  My golf buddies and I share a lot of laughs when we're playing so even if we're not playing our best we're having a good time.

That's a very good suggestion. I've had many suggestions from friends, but they never mentioned this one before.

It does appear that a many successful sports advocacy videos have more people in them (eg the amazing GoPro videos).

I will try my best to do that in future videos, but I think it will not be easy, because my golfing buddies so far don't like being put on film on Youtube for the entire world to see. In fact, I had to cut out a lot of footage for this film specifically to make sure that they were only caught on film to a very minimal extent.

Hahaha...........I admire your dedication!!   I think the biggest problem in that part of the world is affordability.  Most people can't afford to play..........

Nice job though...

That is so true. The gap between the rich and poor is very wide in my city. Some people are swimming in cash, while many struggle just to make ends meet.

One of my viewers said to me: Good video, but golf is only for the rich.

I told him that actually, it is still possible to play golf on a budget, eg by borrowing clubs from a friend and playing a less exclusive golf courses.

But even then, some people cannot afford it at that level.

Perhaps another idea for a video would be "How to play golf without burning a hole in your pocket"

    • Day 36: back to some mirror work tonight. Need a bit more forearm roll in my feels to help with the shallowing.
    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
    • I haven't been able to practice like I wanted and won't for the next week.  1. The weather sucks in Ohio this year. I have been mostly inside hitting foam balls. Just kind of my basic stuff.  2. I woke up last Saturday with a left side rib muscle on fire. If I turned or leaned a certain way it would spasm that almost buckled my knees. I have been taking a break to let that settle. I don't want to get a long term injury. I think I pinched a nerve or just aggravated a muscles.   3. I am going on a mini-vacation to Florida (screw you Ohio weather) with a friend, and rolling that into a work conference I have next week. I will be with out my clubs for a week.  I will be back next in two Fridays to hit the ground running with some warmer temps and better weather in Ohio, hopefully. I would really like to get more out on the course and the range.
