Police in the central German town of Korbach said a fourth woman was critically injured in the incident Friday. Spokesman Dirk Virnich said the women — local residents aged between 41 and 67 — had been playing golf before they fled to the small wooden shelter. Virnich gave no further information on the victims’ identities in line with German privacy laws.[/QUOTE] Don't play golf in a lightning storm people. Taking cover in a shed does not guarantee your safety. The safest is probably to stay low, avoid trees and tall buildings or structures. A house would probably be safe.

I always wondered what percentage of shelters have lightning rods and are grounded and whether even equipped with rods, would it have prevented a tragedy like this.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.
