If you look at these two images, you'll notice some major problems with your posture. Your spine is bent, slightly, but the bend is there. Your arms are dangerously close to your body, and that is a result of your knees being so bent because you are too close to the ball.

Take a step back and bend at your waist to reach the ball, not at your knees. Check out the difference in angle of knee bend from the left side to your image on the right.

If you look at your posture and you think it looks a little like you are squatting, that is due to your knee bend. If you top the ball a lot, it is probably because you are straightening your knees in your forward swing.

Just my non-expert opinion.

Michael Lamanna is the guy on the left. Used to be a pro at La Cantera in San Antonio where they used to play the Texas Open (Valero). Good guy. I think he's in Phoenix now. He does a lot of the videos on "About.com".  I remember hitting balls on his range where that picture was taken and him setting up that clock diagram on the range. Great teacher, imo.

Guys, these are the links, maybe eric can help.

You're pretty limber/flexible for someone who looks like he might lift weights.  Seems to me that you have a lot to work with, swing-wise.

Might want to give the pros a down the line look in addition to the face on so they can see what your swing-plane. Seems like you're getting a very good shoulder turn.

Seems to me that on address, your weight isn't properly distributed. Maybe a pro here can comment if your weight it too far forward and maybe should be 40/60 toward the rightside before you draw the club back.  Weight shit/transferance looks a little reversed.

Thanks Rick, I'll get a dtl view soon. I have been trying to stay more centered on the ball, but I did notice my head swaying on the driver.

You really seem to keep the club on plane on the takeaway. Your left arm and upper torso seem to be somewhat separated on your takeaway. Maybe a pro here can give you some instruction if that's the case. You really have a lot to work with, swingwise.

Here's a helpful link to a site that might give you some information about the backswing. Lots of information. Hopefully not information overload.

Thanks for all of the looks Rick, I'll check out that site. I believe you're correct about getting separated, it seems as I work on one thing, another, that I thought was good goes wrong again, thanks though man.

Thanks Rick, I looked at that web site, and there is a lot to digest, I think I ill start with the right arm takeaway, to stay more connected. Lately, I've been only focused on posture and knee flexion. Thanks for the nice words.

For a variety of reasons I'd recommend against rewarding that site much. That's all I'll say.

The problem w/ the internet there is so much that can overwhelm - paralysis by analysis. Then you have youtube instructional videos as well. Be careful what you use and follow.  Take it from me, once you get a bad habit, it takes awhile to undo them.

Rick, I agree, and try to only work on one thing at once, it's been strictly posture the few times I've hit balls in the last year
