I have a disc issue as well from a speed boat accident years ago ... what bothers me more than playing is walking - if I want exercise, I'll walk (with a pull cart) 9 holes, can't walk 18.     Walking kills me much more than swinging a golf club.     It's always ibuprofen after playing, which helps.      Having back issues sucks - seems to be just part of getting older and is worsened by golfing.      Good luck ... and if you continue to play, develop an EASY tempo swing - thats what I'm always working on to save my back...
