Taylormade RBZ Questions

Hey everyone.

I have two questions and one of them is probably going to sound stupid.  First, what is the difference between the Taylormade RBZ 3w and the RBZ 3w HL.  What does the HL stand for?

Second,  if anyone has any of the RBZ clubs, how do you feel about them and are they as good as advertised?  Did you gain yardage and how forgiving is it?

I think the HL stands for High Launch but Im not 100% sure. I dont own any of the RBZ clubs, but if you do a quick search on the net you can find a bunch of info.

I just purchased a RBZ Driver a week ago and have been out a few times along with a few driving range sessions.

Before I had the R9 supertri and liked that club a lot, but the RBZ is superior in my opinion.  I am driving 20+ yards further and straighter.  I had a slight slice before but now I have a very slight draw at the neutral setting.  Even the miss hits are pretty forgiving.

I feel they are as good as advertised.

Driver:    SLDR TP 9.5* (Tour AD DI 6S)

Wood:   Jetspeed 3W (Aldilia RIP Alpha) & SLDR 5W (Diamana Kai'li)

Hybrids: Rescue 11 3H (18*) & Rescue 11 4H (21*)

Irons:     Rocketbladez Tour 4-PW

Wedge:   ATV 52* & 58*

Putter:   Bettinardi Signature 6

the regular RBZ driver is draw biased and you can even increase the loft and close the face more if you need it.

the 3 wood HL is 2* more lofted (17* vs 15* for the regular) and since they're not adjustable it's more important to get that one right.

i love my driver, and wish i could actually use it, but i'm working on a new swing and that's the last piece of the puzzle after i get my irons right.

it definitely was a lot better than my old driver, but a lot of that was that my last driver was ill-fitted to me.

 G25 Driver (10.5* Stiff Flex)

 G20 3 Wood (15* Stiff Flex)

 i15 3 Hybrid (20* Stiff Flex)

 i20 Hybrid (23* Stiff Flex)

The RBZ woods are great! FIRST time in all my years of golfing that I had a club make THAT kind of difference! The regular 3w is a 15* and the 3HL is a 17* degree.

I was using the the RBZ 3W 15* and hitting it soo far I decided to try the RBZ Tour 3W. The tour model is a 13* degree loft. After one week of using the 13* degree RBZ I ended up sticking my DRIVER in the garage and now use the Tour RBZ off the tee!!!

HL stands for high launch. The standard RBZ 3W is 15°, the HL is 17°. (17° is normally called a 4W, which according to tests* is easier for the average golfer to hit than a 3W.)

I have an RBZ 3W.HL and a 7W, and a 4H. The three seem to have a draw bias, esp. the 4H.  If I line up with a slightly open stance, the three hit the ball high and fairly straight. An OK hit with the 3W.HL goes about 10 yards farther than a really good hit with my old 3W.

(If an RBZ Tour 4H showed up with a R-flex shaft, I would like to try it. I gotten some deadly hooks out of the standard 4H).

I don't think much of the RBZ driver; tested it a couple of times, and was all over the place. Trim 1.5" off the shaft, and you might have something.

      Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.

      Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.

      Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?

      Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
