Try having your mind be a white sheet of paper when you're addressing the ball.

Nah…

It's okay to have a swing thought. A "white sheet of paper" is going to be filled with something, and you're better off controlling what that thing is. Jordan Spieth had three in 2015 to 2017. He had a swing thought — a very clear one with a rehearsal swing — during his recent win at Hilton Head.

We're letting the club do the work. I'm thinking of striking Down, through the ball.

Wasn't till I got well into my 20's that I developed the discipline to avoid attempting the heroic shot after a bad shot.  Take your lumps and avoid making a scrambling par or bogie a double.........

40 years later and I am happy to break 80. LOL

    • It just occurred to me that the last time I was serious about golf, my woods were made of….wood! Also interestingly (to me anyway) as I shopped for “woods”, mostly on eBay, I found that all the clubs in really nice cosmetic/aesthetic shape (good finish, nice club face, good grip) were woman’s clubs. Seems they either take really good care of them or don’t use them much.    And lastly, for now anyway, I went to a range today that has Top Tracer monitors at all the stations - another “new” development that may have been around for quite a while, but this was a first for me. I found it useful although I’m sure I only scratched the surface of its capabilities.
    • Agreed. For me, the feel was introduced to get the arms moving down from the top. It wasn't necessarily a "get it in front of the hip" explanation as the correct position but more for an exaggerated feel to get rid of the earlier issue.
