I hired an instructor to help me but for the last 6 lessons he just watches me hit mid irons! He says he doesn't work on swing mechanics in the golf season. I am tired of trying to fix my own swing via Internet tips. Anyone here in Calgary Alberta That can point me to a decent pro?

I can't speak for every Golf Town, but I know they have instructors listed on their site with biographies. They have all the current tools and teach year round. The guy I recommend is at Golf Town in Red Deer and he also teaches at The Nursery and Wolf Creek. He's awesome (very consistent with 5SK and into sequencing), but I'm not sure I'd drive ~ 1.5 hours for a lesson. GT have a variety of lesson packages including single lessons and the 10 pack I got - best served off season.

      Yes.  Did he not hit the range before the round? When my first few pre-round drives aren't what I expect, the first thing I check is my driver settings, in case they changed.  I am on my second adjustable driver and I am still not trusting that golf gremlins don't change it between rounds. The second thing I check is my alignment and setup, and that is far more often the culprit than my settings. In any case, there are some simple things that I imagine should be on a professional player's pre-round checklist that I am surprised when they aren't.  One of those is the settings for any adjustable clubs.

      It was also set at B1 at a previous event, and… so there's dubiousness around whether he's telling the truth (again).
