I just picked this up last night as I had a B&N; Gift Card from Christmas (as you can see I'm an avid reader ). I read through a good chunk of the book and tried out a couple of things to help improve my impact with hitting down on the ball with irons.

I was amazed with the results that I got with the technique that suggests that you should draw an invisible line from your hands at the top of your swing to a point an inch or two in front of the ball, and swing your hands towards that point rather than at the ball. I instantly began hitting irons far more crisply and farther than I have for a while.

Overall, I am very impressed with the book, and was wondering if any of you have read through it and what you think about it.

I looked for another topic about this book but could not find it so if there is one you can direct me there.

interesting. i'm usually skeptical of anything that focused on your hands since you don't want to be actively doing anything with them and just left your forearms bring the arm through the zone, but this makes sense.

I find it somewhat difficult to explain and I don't have the book in front of me so I don't remember what it's called, but basically just drawing an imaginary line from your hands to a point in front of the ball, if that makes sense.

I thought it was an "interesting" read, but he tended to have too much about himself in there. Overall, like many golf texts, when you consider what he says, it appears to make sense. Since i have been taking lessons, I'm trying to avoid things I read, and am focusing on what my pro is telling me. There's simply too many theories, and each is subtly different, just enough to have you messing up your swing!

But in all I was surprised that I generally liked it (Clampett as an announcer is too much a Tiger fan for me - can't stand him for that.).
