Better than the full scholarship I got. Better than training with Bobby Orr and Ray Bourque at a hockey camp! Im better than Scratch. +0.5.

I have met and surpassed all of my goals for 2012, aside from having to drop out of my provincial Mid Amateur (Which from the scores I saw, I may have had a damn fine chance at the top 3). This is my 5th season of golf, though only my 4th full season. I have had a swing coach on salary for 18+ months now. I've hit a minimum of 300 balls a day, every day that I couldn't play, and many days I could. I built an indoor swing room, and am considering my own trackman. So as you guys can see, I LOVE the game, and take it very seriously. I have been an athlete my whole life, having played university (D1) hockey, and played first base in a semi-pro baseball league throughout university as well. Now that those days are over, golf has become my passion.

I cannot explain how happy I was when my club posted the biweekly HC postings. I had a hunch I was coming close to scratch, after shooting a 67 (Par 71) on wednesday, a 72 (on a par 72) thursday, and a 69 Saturday morning(on the par 71). The posting was as of this AM. Not only do I carry the the lowest HC at my home course, I broke scratch, and that is further than I ever expected to get in this wonderful and frustrating game. Of course im sure that + will disappear, but I will work my hardest to keep getting better.

I am by no means done the hard work. If anything, this is only incentive to work harder. One of my goals was to get too scratch before actually doing the PAT, which I am going to do next summer, as turning pro is my goal for 2013.

No, I do not have illusions of being a tour pro. Not that I dont often wonder how it would have turned out if I had found golf as a child. I want to turn pro so that I can have the credentials needed to convince the University I work for to start a college golf team. I will coach it myself if need be. They already have a deal with a local course for students of the schol, and the course is anxious to sponsor a Red Devils golf team.

So yes, I admit, this thread was somewhat made too brag. Im extremely proud mf myself and al the hard work I put it.

And i'd like to thank TST, Wilson Staff, Callaway, Edel, SeeMORE, Taylor Made, and even PING. Oh and the Academy. How could I forget the Academy. And my fans, thank you, im nothing without you!!!

awesome job its hard to keep it at that level for alot of us. I also made it to +0.5 but, it's hard to maintain its a roller coaster hopefully yours goes better than mine did.  I started working hard on changing my swing and it went from good to really bad where I am now. Having a swing instructor on salary though would be nice. =)

My swing coach says the next pat near us for next year is next July, so my goal for then is +2.0. Even if I dont make it, I wont be crushed. I'Il be happy just to pass the PAT and be able to put, "PGA Professional" on my resume. ;)

There's a bit more to it than passing the PAT. You've gotta learn how to manage a fleet of golf carts and fold sweaters, too. :P

Congrats on the index.
