I'm about to go to Las Vegas National on July 9th and I'm trying to decide wether I want to fly my own clubs out there, or rent clubs from the clubhouse. It will cost $40 to fly my clubs out there, and only $55 to rent clubs. The rentals are actually better clubs than my own. They are Titleist 735s and they have the newest driver and fairway woods. I'm trying to decided wether I want to bring my own bag (see signature) or simply use theres. What would you do in my situation?

Side note: I've been wanting to try the 735s out for a while too. But more than anything, I want to shoot low. I feel like I should be trying clubs out at the rang, not at the course.

Personally, I would probably lean toward renting. However I know how nice it would be to have your own clubs, but how much sense does it make to go through the hassle of taking them if you're only going to play 1 round?

Plus it would be a chance for you to see if you like the other clubs enough to upgrade them. You don't often get a chance to demo a set for 18 holes before you buy. If your loft/lie of your set is pretty close to standard, I'd say rent.

Good luck either way.

That's awesome you're going to Vegas. Where are you staying? I'm going on the 15th of July.. maybe we'll see eachother

Haha.. I'm trying to convince my dad into bringing our clubs and sneak in a round of golf there. But he says it's too hot there to play.

Either way it could cost you a lot of money: rent the clubs out there, end up liking them and you'll have to buy them. Take your own and the airline might end up damaging yours or losing them.

For one round in Vegas? I'd say rent. If you were playing 2 or 3 times I'd say take your own.

For one round you should rent. When making your tee time tell them you will need to rent clubs and how many sets your group will need. Take your golf shoes, balls and glove with you, they don't rent shoes but charge alot for the balls and gloves.

I will be there the 9th through the 12th. Las vegas national for $40!!! Awesome deal huh? I decided to take my own clubs because the green fee is so cheap and we're going to play 72 holes in that time span. 36 the first day, 36 the last day. I really would rather have the comfort of my own clubs if I'm playing that much. Plus I got an airline club-bag for free.

What airline is charging you $40 for your clubs? I've never been charged to transport clubs.
