My understanding is the Custom Shop will not put a Circle T on any putter you send in (unless it was/is a legitimate tour-used putter).

Hmmmmm.....based on the following statement on the Cameron web site it appears you are correct. The Custom Shop stamp is different..
If you have selected the Pro Platinum finish, the Custom Shop Stamp is required and included in the cost of the finish. If your putter is already Pro Platinum please select " Original Finish."

Well I loved the Newport Beach Pro Platnium which was $75, but it was too dented to restore according to the shop owner (who has restored before).

I doubt it. You can send some pretty nasty putters to Scotty's shop and they'll be restored.

That's the "restoration" everyone's talking about. Costs $110. We're not talking about what some pro shop owner does to restore clubs.

I doubt it. You can send some pretty nasty putters to Scotty's shop and they'll be restored.

The damage is on the crown of the putter, it has been dented due to leaving the cover off. The pro shop guy said that the scotty cameron shop wouldnt mess with it because it would alter the weight too much to grind it down.

So I just got off the phone with the restoration shop. He said that for Pro Platnium Newport Beach a few dings on the crown shouldnt affect the ability to restore it. So for $75 + $110 to restore I SHOULD have a brand new scotty newport beach 99 (my favorite of all the newports) adjusting to my exact loft/lie requirements. Sounds too good to me!

Is it worth it to get the scotty stamp on the club, will it add value to it if I were to resale?

If it's really your all-time fav then get your nick name or initials put on it .

You won't want to sell it and Scotty will always have a terrific resale. the proof is that you are willing to spend $75 for a beat-up club that with any other name on you wouldn't spend $5. Enjoy my boy and remember to use protection when you get it back

I just bought it $79.50 with tax. The pro recommended me to make the loft 1* flat and lie 1* down. Now to choose what custom stuff to do to it. :)

Yeah I understand completely, I would've walked out with a $75 Cameron too if I saw it in a store.

    • I just ordered a Titleist TSR 2 #4 hybrid to replace my 3 driving iron.

    • Well, I have a 2 hybrid, 4 hybrid and then play 6 iron onwards.  My best clubs are probably the 4 hybrid and the PW.  What I find is that loft is your friend in general which is why my 4 hybrid is so much better than my 2 hybrid.  Definitely disproportionately more so than the 5 or so degrees of difference in loft.  If you have hybrids, play them.  And consider loft as your friend.  Invariably you will get up to a loft where anything less will not get you more distance because of your club head speed.  Essentially the faster you swing the less lofted a club you can hit effectively.  For me it is probably a 4 hybrid and maybe a 7 iron though I could improve both with practice
