Why do I hit my Irons so high and short?

Thanks.

It seems like such an easy habit to break unless, like me you're setting yourself up to do it.

My game is reenergized by that little tip. I'm contacting the sweetspot much more often and finally hitting my 3,4,5 iron proper distances.

I also suffer from this same problem where I don't lag the club and get into the proper impact position. I happened to be looking at some of Mark Crossfield's instructional videos and I saw a drill I wanted to try to fix this. He said set up to the ball normally using an iron then push the ball forward even with your left toe (if you're right handed) and leave your club at its normal starting position then hit the ball. He said this will force you to sweep the ground more and get your hands in front of the ball and don't worry about where the ball goes. Ill try it out and let you know if it works for me.
