Aldila Graphite shafts.

I am fairly new to golf but I golf about 4 or 5 times a week. I currently have a set of Adams A3 irons 4-pw with Dynamic Gold extra stiff shafts. I hit them straight but I am close to 2 club lenghts short of where I would like to be. I am thinking about re-shafting with a set of graphite shafts. I have an average swing speed, around 80 - 85 mph. I am considering a set of Aldila NV shafts. Any advice? Anybody currently using these in their clubs?

No idea about those, but I have an Aldila RIP shaft in my 910D2 and love it.

If your CHS is 80-85 MPH, then extra stiff is definitely hurting your distance.  Re-shafting irons is a very expensive process, though ($30/club for labor, plus the cost of the shaft and grip)--you'd probably be far better off to trade those irons in and buy a new or used set with the shafts you want.  Plus you'd be able to actually hit the head/shaft combo before you buy it.

I noticed some Aldila wood shafts for sale at Dicks, but you would need to go to a few stores to get a set for your irons. They have gold NV for a lower kick point, and green for a higher one. You might want the low kick point to get the ball higher up for more distance. I am contemplating getting a pro-force iron graphite shaft for my 4 hybrid. It's $5 right now.

I agree with k-troop above.  The TTDG x-stiff shafts are likely making golf much more difficult than it needs to be.  Rather than reshafting, I'd try and sell your irons and purchase a set fit for your swing.

Thanks for the info guys. I tried out some new clubs but the sets I found that I liked were all close to a grand so that was out. SoI bought a set of TT DG regular flex shafts online for 80 bucks and then an extractor and new ferules and epoxy from golfworks. So im only out 200 bucks to re-shaft the clubs. I tried them on the range today and they are good and I seem to have picked up a little yardage. As i get used to the shafts I figure I will get a bit more again. But I saw the  graphite shafts and thought about trying them out as well.

You were able to order shafts online, get an extractor, epoxy and ferrules from Golfworks and get everything put together within a ten hour period?  Were all of these things you bought right in your neighborhood?  Man, that is fast service indeed....  Honestly, no matter how fast an epoxy is rated to set, you shouldn't touch those clubs for at least 24 hours.  So when/if your stuff actually does come in, remember that.

Sorry about the confusion there. I had allready re-shafted the clubs with DG regular shafts when I posted the first thread. I actually re-shafted them last thursday and tried them for the first time on the weekend. Didnt really like the regular flex, a bit too flimsy, so I had seen the graphite shafts on ebay and thought I would ask about them.
