hello all , as it says how do u setup and hit a approach shot so when it hit the green it rolls out some ? just about all my approach shot hit the green and either hop a foot and stop dead or even backs up a little . sometimes I would like my approach shot to release and roll out . how do u setup and execute a shot like this ?

make an easier swing so you don't generate as much spin?

Well it seems you are spinning the ball quite a bit. The obvious answer is to play to your spin and just hit it further and dont count on any roll. Depending on how far out you are, you could always switch to a lower lofted club and choke down for a nice bump with roll. The higher the trajectory, the more your ball will want to stay where it lands...especially with spin. You could always do what I do and just hit it thin on accident and cuss til you want to throw up. Your choice tho!

Use the correct club for the shot.

You are obviously using a club with too high a loft.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Hit a lower lofted club with an easier swing. It should fly lower with less spin. Both will help it run out a bit.

    • I had a few tweeks in the bag. I took out my Mizuno pro FliHi 3 iron replaced it with a Titleist GT2 7 Wood. what a change that is, so easy to hit, it goes so high without it ballooning on me. I couldn't get rid of my callaway woods ( Rogue ST Max LS ) but changed the shafts to Diamana BB 63 stiff for the driver and 73 stiff for the 3 wood. Than i got myself a new putter Odyssey S2S jailbird yes i joined the centershaft family
    • First off all i think you should use the same ball all the time. We all strive for consistency on the course, the only factor you can be sure it will be always the same is your ball if you always use the same. So i think we should always use the same. I recently switched from Titleist Pro V1x to Srixon Z-Star Diamond because it i get a bit softer feel around the greens and same results on driver and irons
