Hey all,

The girlfriend and I are heading out to Vegas for a few days next week, staying at the Mandaly Bay, and we thought we'd try to play some golf while were out there.  We both enjoy playing, and we both shoot around 110 (I know, very bad, Im working on it).

Do any of you know of a good course that isn't too far from the strip, and is beginner friendly?  Im not necessarily looking for something super short, but somewhere that is a little bit more laid back and Im not going to get laughed off the course for playing terrible.  Also, looking for something that isn't super expensive.

Thanks in advance for any input!

Many years ago I played Wild Horse out in Henderson, NV (about 20 min drive from the strip).  It is a muni course, but better than average.

    • It isn't about maintaining focus 100% of the time when you are on the course. It is getting focus back for the shot at hand. Even PGA tour players will chat with their caddies or opponents about non-golf stuff, but then lock in. It is hard to try to constantly be 100% locked in for 4+ hours.  Totally normal thing to happen. You really only need a few moments of focus.  This is where a pre-shot routine helps. Maybe you need to add something that gets the focus back.  I just focus on every shot like a puzzle that needs solved. I like solving puzzle and problems. So, I try to be curious. Which then enhances focus. I think it lets me take each shot at hand. It lets me have the down time between shots. What I do is just get to the ball, and then start gathering information. Yardage, lie, wind, where is the pin at, etc.. Then I figure out what I want to do.  It's not like I can't shut off the thoughts and focus when I need to. I only need to focus for a few minutes before each shot.
