Ah OK, that is good then.

Yup. Ball spin and controls like that are all controlled either individually (so you can mix and match) or with pre-set levels like "amateur," "pro," etc. And the new one, "Simulation."

Playing at Mission Hills right now. Kind of cool to play a course that is literally 5 minutes from my apartment.

I didn't see The Sand Trap CC on the PS3 version so I created it if anybody wants to join.

With the next gen of consoles about to occur, I am sure the galleries will be one of the things they will address. That and presentation have been held back by the limited capacity of the current generation. I have heard that many developers now say they are at the limits already, so the new gen is happening at just the right time.

They have added the ability to play with 24 other golfers on a live tournament with ball arcs to address this issue. Career mode is a little more difficult to make feel alive, though they added more stats as you play the round showing what the other AI golfers are doing to make it come more to life.

Ok, so is this worth grabbing for the 360? I have the Road to the Masters on the Wii, but the Ex has the Wii now:-( I do not have the Kinect.

If you're hoping for the Kinect to be some sort of simulation experience, its not. This game is best played with a controller imo. But FWIW, I do think its worth grabbing. Its challenging enough. I've visited the ea sports website and forum and the devs are very concerned with any bugs that are being reported. They are working on updates to address these already. I like what they got goin on.

The Sand Trap CC... Sounds fun.  But I haven't bought a game for my 360 or PS3 in ~ 2 or 3yrs.  Do you create your own course?  Or is it just a way to meet folks online and compete/play against one another?

I'm not too game savvy anymore (who am I kidding, I never was) so forgive me this dumb question:  Is this CC exclusive to a specific console?  Does everybody have to use a Kinect, or a PS3, or can we all comingle?

I only ask because all I have is a Wii ... and for now all I have Tiger Woods 13.  Are they making 14 for the Wii?

There's a "The Sand Trap CC" on each console, and they're separate for 360 and PS3. They are not planning to release a Tiger 14 for Wii (or Wii U, lest I keep forgetting about that thing), but they also didn't release a Tiger 13 for the Wii so I'm not exactly sure how you got your hands on one. ;-) [quote name="Beachcomber" url="/t/63219/tiger-woods-pga-tour-14/30_30#post_826115"]The Sand Trap CC... I plan on buying the game this weekend sometime. I have some time off from work next week so I plan on getting some time in with TW14. I'll look for The Sandtrap CC but all I have is PS3. Not sure if we can all game from different consoles though.

LOL!  I guess it's been a lot longer since I've played that game than I thought.  I must have '12. They made a '12, right?

I joined The Sand Trap CC....but I'm still waiting to be able to buy the game. I see that it's released....but only the Demo is available for download.

I prefer to download games I'm gonna keep, plus I like not having to put a disc in to play.

    • Never practiced golf when I was young and the only lesson ever taken was a driver lesson. I feel like I'm improving every year. However, the numbers don't support my feeling about improving. I usually drop to 12-13 during the summer while playing the familiar courses around home and then go on golf trips in the fall to new courses and increase to end the year between 15-17. Been a similar story for a number of years now but hey, it's the best thing there is in life so not too bothered but reaching 9.9 is the objective every year. Maybe a few lessons and practice could help me achieve it since I pretty much have no idea what I'm doing, just playing and never practice.
    • I am semi-loyal. Usually buy four dozen of one ball and only play that until out and then determine whether to continue or try another one. Since starting my semi-loyal path to success, I've been playing the below, not in order: ProV1 ProV1x ProV1x left dash AVX Bridgestone BXS Srixon Z-star XV I am not sure if it has helped anything, but it gives a bit of confidence knowing that it at least is not the ball (while using the same one) that gives different results so one thing less to mind about I guess. On the level that I am, not sure whether it makes much difference but will continue since I have to play something so might as well go with the same ball for a number of rounds. Edit: favorite is probably the BXS followed by ProV1/Srixon Z-star XV. Haven't got any numbers to back it up but just by feel.
    • Will not do it by myself, going to the pro shop I usually use after Cristmas for input and actually doing the changes, if any, but wanted to get some thoughts on whether this was worthwhile out of curiosity.
    • In terms of ball striking, not really. Ball striking being how good you are at hitting the center of the clubface with the swing path you want and the loft you want to present at impact.  In terms of getting better launch conditions for the current swing you have, it is debatable.  It depends on how you swing and what your current launch conditions are at. These are fine tuning mechanisms not significant changes. They might not even be the correct fine tuning you need. I would go spend the $100 to $150 dollars in getting a club fitting over potentially wasting money on changes that ChatGPT gave you.  New grips are important. Yes, it can affect swing weight, but it is personal preference. Swing weight is just one component.  Overall weight effects the feel. The type of golf shaft effects the feel of the club in the swing. Swing weight effects the feel. You can add so much extra weight to get the swing weight correct and it will feel completely different because the total weight went up. Imagine swinging a 5lb stick versus a 15lb stick. They could be balanced the same (swing weight), but one will take substantially more effort to move.  I would almost say swing weight is an old school way of fitting clubs. Now, with launch monitors, you could just fit the golfer. You could have two golfers with the same swing speed that want completely different swing weight. It is just personal preference. You can only tell that by swinging a golf club.
    • Thanks for the comments. I fully understand that these changes won't make any big difference compared to getting a flawless swing but looking to give myself the best chance of success at where I am and hopefully lessons will improve the swing along the way. Can these changes make minor improvements to ball striking and misses then that's fine. From what I understood about changing the grips, which is to avoid them slipping in warm and humid conditions, is that it will affect the swing weight since midsize are heavier than regular and so therefore adding weight to the club head would be required to avoid a change of feel in the club compared to before?
