When I reply to a thread, it marks every other thread on the board "read". I can't think of a browser setting that would do that. Any ideas Erik?

It has to do with the time of your last activity, and it's not actually marking anything as "read." It's marking them as "old."

If they're "new," they're new since your last activity on the site. I typically use the URL: http://thesandtrap.com/forum/search.php?do=getnew and then open all the new pages in tabs. That way, I can quickly scan all the new topics across all the sub-forums, and I won't miss much, if anything.

While ridding myself of spam, I accidentally blocked the emails I used to get from you alerting me to new posts on a thread I've replied to. My browser has an option to enter your URL in a safe sender file, but I don't know what it is. When I enter the website I get a message saying I need the address with 'someone' @ yahdahyahdah.

Can you post what I would see as the sender of those alerts in a reply here so that I can copy it and get your notices, please?

I don't know - it may come from "forum@" - you'd have to ask some other people who get the notifications.

Your spam blocker is pretty poor if it doesn't allow you to whitelist an entire domain like "thesandtrap.com."

They probably did... until I changed it to come from forum@ earlier today.

    • Bryson got hit with a 2 shot penalty, after the round, for improving his lie on hole 5.  Here is a post on X, showing how he stepped on high grass when he was looking down his target line.  When they cut to the side shot, you can see how close he was behind the ball.  I think the R&A probably made the correct decision. You just have to be really careful when you are walking in the high grass, around the ball and where you are to make a swing.

    • Day 27 (17 July 26) - Normally an 18 hole day, but due to commitments abbreviated the round to 9 holes (played the back nine at home course).  Had a solid session where even the worst miss (tee shot off 18) was fully playable.  Shot a solid 39 (6pars, 3bogies) - not dbls, no three putts - just boring golf.
    • Overall, well said. People have to be very careful in trying to describe very complex problem in simple terms. In this case, it is a clear fundamental misunderstanding of Newton's 1st and 3rd laws.  To clarify more on the misinterpretation of Newton's 1st law. The exact interpretation of Newton's 1st Law....  "Every body continues in its state of rest, or of uniform motion in a straight line, unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed upon it" yea, a body will stay motionless unless a force acts upon it. An object will stay on its path of motion unless a force acts upon it.  I get it, complex physics problems are difficult. There is a lot of simplification done in most physics class when it is taught. A classic problem uses a frictionless surface. Projectile motion excludes drag and wind direction. Collisions are usually elastic. The golf swing is not a simple physics problem.  Yea, I think they got caught up the data on the graphs and are not truly understanding cause and effect.  If the golfer isn't first pushing into the ground, then the ground isn't going to push back.  The internal forces of the body create the motion, not the external forces from the ground. The ground isn't like what Psy uses to start his concert. 🤣 You probably need to be connected to the ground and have those GRF to help the body produce the motion you want. Your body has to move in the right way to produce the GRF which helps you move the body in the way you want. Body motion precedes the GRF.
