Whilst having a sin bin week off I started looking at some of the other stuff on this site.  why are the numbers of members so low and what's with the "guests"? it only takes 2 minutes to sign up.....so what's up with that.

Maybe a free golf ball with every guest who joins?

Taking the above advice may lead to destruction of your golf game. Laughing at it may reduce stress.

Aside from the "lurkers" (people that only read), I assume TST recieve a lot of hits from Google and other search engines. This is pretty common for larger message boards. They get hits every day from users just looking for a specific piece of information. Some are perhaps reading the main site regularly and pop in the forum now and then.

Also, there is a privacy setting you can select where you don't show up in the "Currently Viewing" list. Could be a large percentage of members have selected that option.

      Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
